To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, BENJAMIN B. NoURsE, of Westborough, in the county of Worcester and State of Massachusetts, have invented an Improved Folding Plant-Stand, of which the following is a specification:
My invention relates to the construction of a stand in regard to its being easily packed up for transportation or to be laid away when not in use. Its nature consists in constructing the supports in three leaves or parts to support the shelves and attaching two of them to one edge of the third or middle one, so that they may be folded together compactly, and the shelves are made to pack closely, and when placed on the supports are retainedin place by dowels or screws.
Figure l is a front view of a stand embodying my invention. Fig. 2 is a plan of the supports, the dotted lines showing the position of the outside supports when folded.
A A are the two side standards, hinged to B at one edge and made with arms to support the ends of the shelves 0 U 0 O, B in like manner supporting the middle of said shelves. The shelves are made semicircular and of different sizes to fit the standards, and with holes fitting on the dowels in the arms; or, if desired, they may be secured by screws, the braces d d d 01 serving to strengthen the arms and support the shelves, and also to prevent the plants from being accidentally pushed off at the ends of the shelves.
I claim- The hinged supportin g-frame, composed of two side standards hinged to one edge of a middle one, in combination with the removable shelves of a flower-stand, when constructed in the manner and for the purposes above set forth and described.
