HENRY P. STICHTER, OF POTTSVILLE, PENNSYLVANIA.
IMPROVEMENT IN COMBINED PUTATU-MASHERS, STEAK-PUUNDERS, AND ICE-BREAKERS.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, HENRY P. STIGHTER, of Pottsville, in the county of Schuylkill and State of Pennsylvania, have invented anew and valuable Improvement in Combined Potato-Mashers and Steak-Founders, Ice-Breakers, and Muddlers; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description of the construction and operation of the same, reference being had to the annexed drawing making a part of this specification, and to the letters and figures of reference marked thereon.
Figure 1 of the drawing is a side view of my invention. Fig. 2 is a vertical cross section through the line a a:
This invention has relation to kitchen utensils; and it consists of a potato-masher and meatpounder, combined and constructed as hereinafter described.
In the accompanying drawing, A represents the head of a wooden potato-masher, which I construct of a cylindrical form, and then to adapt it to the purposes of my invention cut away a flat surface on one side. I then provide an iron plate, b, armed with a number of ridge projections, b, tapering to blunt edges and coinciding with the circumference of the head A. To this head I secure the plate I), placing it on the flat surface and inserting screws 0. The tapering ridges b are designed for the purpose of pounding steaks to render them tender. By preference, I use galvanized iron for the steak-pounder. D indicates the handle which is turned with and from the same piece of wood.
The utensil described is also adapted to use as an Icebreaker and muddler without change in its construction.
I claim as my invention The household implement herein described, constructed with handle D, semi-cylindrical head A, and metallic plate 11, having projections b so formed that the points thereof shall describe the arc of a circle, substantially as and for the purposes specified.
In testimony that I claim the above I have hereunto subscribed my name in the presence of two witnesses.
HENRY P. STIOHTER.
