SHAVIN G KIT.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented Jan. 23, 1917.
Application filed May 25, 1915. Serial No. 30,357.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, FRANK W. GRADY, a subject of the King of England, residing at Taft, in the county of Kern and State of California, have invented a new and useful Shaving Kit, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to a shaving kit, one of its objects being to provide, in a single article, a brush, a soap-holder, a razor holder and a m g.
A further object is to provide a device of this character which is simple and compact in construction, cheap which is handled readily, the kit being especially useful to travelers.
With the foregoing and other objects in view which will appear as the description proceeds, the invention resides in the comination and arrangement of parts and in the details of construction hereinafter described and claimed, it being understood that changes in the precise embodiment of the invention herein disclosed, can be made wlthin the scope of What is claimed, Without departing from tion.
In the accompanying drawings the preferred form of the invention has been shown.
In said drawings, Figure 1 is an elevation of the shaving kit. Fig. 2 is a central longitudinal section therethrough.
Referring to the figures by characters of reference 1 designates a brush having a tubular handle 2, that end of the handle remote from the brush being open so as to receive a shaving stick 3. This shaving stick is preferably mounted on a vacuum cup 4 of rubber so that, after the soap has been applied to the cup, all parts thereof can be used so that there will be The brush 1 is adapted to be housed within a cap 5 the open-end of which is adapted to frictionally engage or to screw upon one end of the handle 2, this cap 5 being provided with perforatlons 6 so that air can the spirit of the invento manufacture, and
circulate freely therethrough with the result that thebrush 1, if wet, will be permitted to dry quickly without said brush coming into contact with any articles on which the kit may rest.
A flared receptacle 6 having an annular flange 7 at its small end, is adapted to close the open end of the handle 2, the flange 7 being designed to frictionally engage the handle or to screw thereonto. This flared receptacle 6 serves the two-fold function of a shaving mug and a housing for a safety to close the razor 8. A cap 9 isadapted open end of the receptacle 6 and it will be apparent that with the parts thus assemled, the cap 5 can be removed and the brush 1 used, the parts 2 and 6 constituting the handle of the brush. When it is desired to use the soap, the flange 7 of receptacle 6 1s disengaged from the handle 2 So that the soap can thus be removed from the handle. The safety razor 8 can be removed by detaching the cap 9 from receptacle 6. By placing said receptacle 6 with its flange 7 resting on a table or the like, the said receptacle can be used as a shaving mug.
at is claimed is:-
shaving brush including a hollow handle constituting a soap container, bristles extending from one end of the handle, the other end of the handle being open, an extension detachably' connected to the open end of the handle and constituting a combined mug and razor container, said extension constituting a closure for the open end of the handle, a closure for the extension, and a cap for housing the bristles, said cap engaging the closed end portion of the handle.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing.
as my own, I have hereto aflixed my signature in the presence of two witnesses.
FRANK W. GRADY. Witnesses CHARLES nnn BONDIO, E. B. LATHAM.
