To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that we, CHARLES C. PETER- MAN and HENRY L. PETERMAN, citizens of the United States, residing at Stony Brook, in the county of Suffolk and State of New York, have invented new and useful Tmrovements in Disinfectant Devices, of which the following is a specification.
The invention relates to a disinfectant device, and more particularly to the class of disinfectant apparatus for use with flushing tanks.
The primary object of the invention is the provision of an apparatus of this character wherein the valve float in a water or flush tank of the ordinary construction controls the same so that it will be automatically operated for the discharge of a given-quantity of disinfecting material from said tank into a pipe leading to the bowl.
Another object of the invention is the provision of an apparatus of this character wherein the construction thereof is novel in form so that the automatic operation of the same will be efiected on the filling and dispensing of water'within the flush tank.
A further object of the invention is the provision of an apparatus of this character which is simplein construction, readily and easily applied to a flush tank of the ordinary well known construction, thoroughly reliable and efficient in its operation and inexpensive in manufacture.

The invention accordingly consists in the features of construction, combination of elements and arrangement of parts which will the construction hereinafter described, and the scope of the application of which will be indicated in the appended claim.

Referring to the drawing in detail,.A designates generally a bowl; B, the flush tank which is of the ordinary well known construction and C, the water pipe leading therefrom to the bowl. Extended within the tank B is the water supply pipe D which has its valved end 10 operated upon in the usual manner'by means of afloat 11 which may be of any suitable construction and is attached to the end of a lever arm 12 acting upon the said valve 10 to close the same when the float is lifted by the rise of water in the tank. Interiorly of the tank B is the usual overflow pipe 13 which is connected with the flush or supply pipe 0 and has communication at its upper end with an after-fill tube 14 which is connected with the casing of the inlet valve 10, the overflow pipe 13 and after-fill pipe 1 1 being constructed and arranged to operate in the usual well known manner to supply the bowl with a quantity of water after it has;
been flushed out by the volume ofwater in the tank.
Fitted within the tank B is the disinfectant apparatus comprising a container or reservoir 15 which is hung or fastened to one side wall of the tank D and has extending fromits bottom a conveyor tube or pipe 16 which communicates with or opens into a delivery pipe C, and this pipe or tube 16 hasformed therein a valve casing 17 having the opposite beveled face annular valve seat p 18 interiorly thereof providing seats for a double cone valve 19, as shown, and to this valve is connected a stem 20 which extends upwardly through the tube 16 interiorly of the container or reservolr 15 to a point near.

When the float rod 12 is raised the stem of the valve 19 is lowered so that the latter is in position for closing the lower end of the valve casing 17 while the other end is open -to the container or reservoir 15 for receivbeen flushed.
From the foregoing description, taken in connection with the accompanying drawing, the construction and operation of the herein described device will be readily apparent and, therefore, a more extended explanation has been omitted.
Having thus described our invention, we claim:
A disinfectant apparatus comprising a container adapted to be mounted Within a flush tank, a lead pipe extending from the container for the delivery of disinfectant from the same to a bowl and having a vertical portion next to said container, a valve casing formed in the vertical portion of the pipe and having double reversely beveled valve seats, said casing being formed in three sections united to each other, a double cone valve alternately engageable with the respective seats and working within the casing, a rocking lever pivoted 011 the container, a'valve rod connected with said valve and with one end of the lever, and a weighted trip arm pivoted to and depending from the other end of the lever and adapted to be operated by the float arm in the flush tank.
