UNITE STATES PATENT OFFICE.
LOUIS BARGIVIANN', 0F BROOKLYN, NEW YORK.
CHRISTMAS-TREE HOLDER.
Application filed April 5, 1916.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, LOUIS BARGMANN, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of Brooklyn, in the county of Kings and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Christmas- Tree Holders, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to a Christmas tree holder which is adapted to securely support without trimming, trees having stems of different thicknesses, or which are provided with knots or other irregularities at their base.
In the accompanying drawing: Figure 1 is a plan of a Christmas tree holder embodying my invention, and Fig. 2, a side elevation partly in section thereof.
The device comprises essentially, a base 1, shown to be made cruciform, and to be supported upon feet 2. To base 1 are hinged at 3, two sets of diametrically disposed arms or braces l, which will normally assume an inclined position. The two opposed members of each set of braces carry a flexible strap 5, which is attached to the inner ends of the braces, and is of such a length as to sag Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented Sept. 19, 1916.
Serial No. 89,042.
between straps 5, and then nut 9 is turned to draw the straps downward into the socket, and thus tighten their hold upon the stem, while the braces are simultaneously comprising a base, a pair of braces hinged thereto, a sagging flexible strap carried by the braces, and adapted to be passed underneath the article to be supported, and means 01 drawing said strap centrally toward the ase.
2. A holder of the character described, comprising a base, sets of diametrically disposed braces hinged thereto, a plurality of intersecting sagging flexible straps carried by the braces and adapted to be passed underneath the article to be supported, and a member depending from the centers of the straps and adapted to draw said straps toward the base.
3. A Christmas tree holder, comprising a base, sets of diametrically disposed braces hinged thereto, a plurality of intersecting flexible straps arried by the braces, a socket mounted upon the base, a bolt depending from the straps and passing through the socket, said bolt likewise engaging the base, and a nut mounted on the bolt.
