HENRY '1. COLE, OF NEW YORK, N. Y.
WALL-BRACKET.
Specification of Letters Patent.
PatentedAug. 29, 1916.
Application filed July 1, 1915. Serial No. 37,429.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, HENRY T. Come, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of New York, in the county of Bronx and State of New York, have invented new and useful Improvements in Wall-Brackets, of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to wall brackets.
The object of my invention is to produce a wall bracket formed of a continuous strip of metal suitably formed to support and hold a shelf in clamped position thereon, and a further object thereof is to produce a more simple, cheap and efficient bracket of said character than has heretofore been attained.
To these ends, my invention includes the combination and arrangement of component parts to be hereinafter described and more particularly pointed out in the claim.
In the accompanying drawings, in which like reference characters indicate similar parts, Figure l is a perspective view of my invention showing the parts assembled, and
Fig. 2 is a similar view showing the parts disassembled.
Referring to said drawlngs, 1 indicates an integral frame of wire or other metal strip formed to comprise the vertical wall members 2, and the lateral horizontal arms 3. The outer ends of the arms 3 are bent upwardly at 4, and said upturned ends are connected by the cross-members 5. The bracket thus formed may be secured upon a wall by the staples 6 or by eyelets screwed of wire or strip of metal, and that same is so fashioned that it will not only support a shelf thereon, but will embrace same at its outer edge by the upturned cross-member 5 and hold same against the wall on which the bracket is secured.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to be secured by Letters Patent, is
A wall bracket, formed of a continuous strand of metal and comprising vertical wall members, parallel horizontal arms extending laterally therefrom having rupturned outer portions, a horizontal cross member connecting said upturned portions, a shelf horizontally supported on said arms and held thereon against the wall by the upturned end portions and cross member, which embrace the shelf at its outer edge, and means for securing said vertical members on a wall, substantially as described.
