In a carbureter, a casing having an air inlet and outlet, a. diaphragm acros'sthe carbureter between `the inlet and outlet provided VWith .a restricted auxiliary air openparticular form ing that is constantly openand a main air ing through 50 opening, a closure for sealing the main openthe diaphragm when the air velocity through the carbureter falls below a predetermined point, fuel supply means dis!4 charging into the' casing between the aphragm andthe outlet, operated by the main opening closure, and means for delivering fuel into the lconstantly open auxiliary air passage.

A carburetor comprising a base having a fuel supply compartment, an intermediate section vmounted or the base and provided with an air inlet and a diaphragm having a in ain airopening and a restricted auxiliary air opening, a fuel compartment and discharging into the restricted auxiliary opening, a valve regulating the flow through the duct, a cap mounted on the intermediate section having an air outlet, a main fuel supply duct leading from the fuel compartment and discharging into the cap above the main diaphragm opening of the; intermediate section, a closure restricting and sealing the discharge f of the main fuel duct, and a closure for the main diaphragm opening adapted to be lifted therefrom by air' passing fromthe -inlet to the-main outlet and arranged lto operate the main fuel duet closure' in response to the closure 1nove 6. In a carbureter, a base having a fuel compartment; an intermediate section on the base having a central depending stem by which the loase is secured, a diaphragm closing the upper end of the intermediate section and havinga restricted always open auxiliary air passage, and a main opening both in communication with an air inlet to the intermediate section, an auxiliary fuel duet from the fuel compartment having a jet nozzle discharging into the restricted air passage, means for regulating the flow through the duct, a closure adapted to seal the main opening and provided with a guide stem longitudinally reciprocable in the depending section stem, a cap mounted on the intermediate section, a taper bored bushing in the cap in the air passage thereof Connecting an outlet from the cap with the openingsof the diaphragm, a main fuel duct leading from the fuel compartment and passing through lateral openings in the inner periphery of the bushing, and a closure adapted to seal the bushing and connected to the main opening closure to move in unison therewith.
