State of California, have invented a certain new and useful Improvement in Cabinets, mi which the following is a specification.

My invention relates to a cabinet-for talking machine records, and has especialareferenceto a mechanism for projecting the records in orderto enable their convenient removal. In most cabinets, as constructed today, which contain some 'arran ement for moving the record for a certain istance out of the cabinet to afford a hold for the user,

a separate and distinct element or combination of elements for each is employed. I

An object of my invention, therefore, is to" provide a cabinet in which a single means for all records isused in projecting them individually out of the cabinet.

Pivotally hung from a support 4 is alever 0 5, the end of which extends in the rear of and below the center of a record, as seen in Fig. 4, and is provided on each side witha Wing 6, forming substantially a U, for en'- abling said end to take a firmhold on and 4 prevent it..from slipping engagement with the record. Approxlmately intermediate and pivotally connected at one end with-said lever 5, is a link 7, having its other. end pivotally attached to a bar'8, that is pivotally connected to a carriage 9, and to which carriage is secured the support 4 for the lever 5. On the other end of said bar 8 is a weight 8' for holding the lever 5 in and returning the same to normal position, as will 5 ap ear hereinafter. Thiscarriage 9 is provi ed with a'plurality of rollers 10, running individual record 14 is in engagement with one of the notches in a track 11 extending transversely through the cabinet, and is connectedwith a carrier 12, by'a tube 13, through which extends a rod'14, having a bent end 15, looselyconnectedwith said lever 5 by a pin 16. The other end of said rod 14 is provided with a knob or button 17, by which the rod may be pulled outwardly'to efi'ect .theioperation of the lever 5 and consequently the movement of a record. Said carrier 12 is provided with a plurality of wheels 18, arranged to run on a track 19, whereby to shift the entire mechanism heretofore described, and bring v the lever 5 in position for projecting, a desired 7 record. In order to prevent the movement of the carrier 12 and its connectedparts while the rod 14 is in withdrawn position, as indicated in dotted lines Fig. 6, the rod 14 is provided 7 with a key 20, for engagement in thenotches' 21, of a strip 22,'in front of'said carrier 12. When a certain record is desired to be taken from the cabinet, thecarrier 12, by means of the button 17, is moved along the track 19, until the indicator 23 on the carrier'12 points to the desired one of the circles 23' on the front of the cabinet, in which circles may be inscribed the titles or numbers of the records. The rod 14 is then pulled outwardly, causing the lever 5 to project the record, and the weighted bar 8 to be lifted, as shown in dotted lines, Fig. 6. 1. In a record cabinet, a lever in operative position to the rear of a record, a track, a carriage movable on said track, a support .on said carriage for said lever, a weighted bar pivotally connected to said carriage, a link connecting said lever and bar, a carrier, a track on which said carrier runs, a tube connecting said carriage and carrier, and a rod extending through said tube and operatively connected with said lever.
