Be it known that we, EARL- O. CiLLnY and .l'rnini. J. CILLEY, citizens of the United States, residing at Conklin and Grand Rapids, respectively, in. the counties of Oh tawa and Kent, respectively, and State of lllichigan, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Burglar-G nerds, of which the following is a specification.

This invention relates to improvements in appliances for use in stores, banks, express cars and other places-where valuables are kept, and especially in banks, jewelry stores, and the like, where daylight hold ups are likely to occur, for the purpose of prevent-- ing robberies, and its object is to so overcome the would be robber as to render it impossible for him. to carry out his designs, or to escape with booty before he could he disarmed and placed under arrest, and, at the same time, to place him. in such a con dition as to render it impossible for him to injure a teller, clerk or express agent by shooting him, or otherwise, This object is attained by the mechanism and means indicated in the accompanying drawing in which- Figure l is a perspective of a. part of a counter with one end shown in section to Specification of Letters Patent.
