Description
COMPOUND FRE-KINDLE.
Application iled January l5, 1915.
To all whom it may concor/n Be it known that l, CHRISTOPHER F. GEIssLEn, :i eiiizen of the United Sint-es, residing at Si. Louis, Stute of lllissouri, have inreniedcertnin new and useful improvements in Compound l `ir- \indlers; und do hereby dechire the following to be n. full, clear, und exact description or' the invention, such ns will enable others skilled in the art to which it eppertoins to make and use Jche same.
This invention relates to compound rire kindlers, and the principal object of the invenion is to provide n fire kindlinf),- which can be produced :it low costI and which will be reliable and ellicient for its purpose.
1n carrying out the invention, the ingrediente and the relative proportions of the ingredients are as follows:
Dry stable 1nfinure 48 pounds. Resin 4 pounds. Pitch 2 pounds. @rude petroleum oil pound.
The manner of mixing' the ingredients is .as follows: The resin, pitch, and crude petroleum oil are henied to :i melted condition and are then mixed with the dry stable manure. When thus mixed o semi-plastic condition is attained ind the materiels are placed in molds which` will form .tliei lcinmold, and Fig. 3 is a perspective View of` Specification of Leiters Patent.

one of 'elle blocks or briques of re-lindling seperated from fue others after molding.
`eiferring to the drawing libe nninerel l designznes tire bottoni of the mold, which may be in the foi-in of :i box or' the required size for forming e number or briquets, seid briquets lneirigg` prnetieolly six inches long, one and one-lnilr inches ihick, and two inches wide. A cover 2 for said mold is provided with n series of V-sheped projections 8 which are designed to ineke n groove in the briquets l at opposile sides thereof? so that they con be readily `detached nlong lie line 5 from ehe other briquet-s afer molding. The @over 2 is provided with on upwardly exlending (i :it one or boih ends.
The proportions oij materials referred no herein will'ine lie :ibourone gross o briquels, that is to eey, e hundred and forty-four cakes with iweny-four briquets in each. eolie. These briquets will burn freely und con be lighted with :i match and will sieri :i fire readily. A
lie materiels oui; of which the ltindler inside is inexpensive, ond the oost o nizinufacture is Very slight.` The relative proportions of nieserials :may be varied with` in wide limits without departing from elle spirit end scope oii'the invention as dened in the oleiin.
What is iclaimed is:-
A ire kindler consisting of e solid mees of thoroughly' mixed dry stable manure 'forty-eight pounds, resin, pitch iwo ponnds and crude petroleum oil one-quarter pond combined in snbeeriielly the proportions stated.
