JOHN ZUBECK, OF DETROIT, MICHIGAN.
PUZZLE.
Application filed May 4, 1915.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that 1, JOHN ZUBECK, a citizen of the United States, residing at Detroit, in the county of WVayne and State of Michigan, have invented new and useful Improvements in Puzzles, of which the following is a specification.
An object of the invention is to provide a puzzle which will afford great amusement to children as well as grown people.
The invention embodies, among other features, the provision of a puzzle which consists substantially of four parts, one of which is in the nature of a bar carrying two of the parts, and upon which the fourth part normally depends, with the fourth part adapted to be removed entirely from the two parts connected to the bar and the bar, the object being to so arrange and manipulate the fourth part that its separation from the remaining parts of the puzzle will result.
In the further disclosure of the invention reference is to be had to the accompanying drawings, constituting a part of this specification, in which similar characters of refer ence denote corresponding parts in all the views, and in which:
Figure 1 is a perspective view of the puzzle, showing the same in its normal position; Fig. 2 is a View of the removable member shown detached from the loops: and Fig. 3 is a horizontal sectional view taken through the bar and eyelets of the loops.
Referring more particularly to the views, I provide a bar 10 terminating at its ends in enlarged portions forming eyelets 11 and mounted loosely on the bar between its enlarged ends are a plurality of loops 12, the ends of which terminate in eyelets 13 through which the bar 10 loosely passes. Loosely mounted on the loops and normally arranged as shown in Fig. 1 is a member 14 which, if desired, may be made to conform to the configuration of a rabbit head or the head of some other animal, said member and said loops being formed of wire, with the wire forming the member 14 having its ends connected so that the member 14 will be ,closed and will provide a plurality ofspaced projections 15 forming an inwardly extend- Specification' of Letters Patent.

Serial No. 25,759.
In removing the member 14 from the loops 12 one of the projections of the member is first passed through one of the eyelets of the loops. this eyelet being indicated by the letter a. The eye end I) on the bar 10 is then passed through the projection which is to be passed through the loop and thus this projection can be entirely disengaged from the said loop, and thereby disengage the member 14 from the first loop mentioned. A projection of the member is now passed through an eyelet 0 of the other loop 12 and the other end (Z of the bar 10 is then passed through that portion of the projection of the member which has been passed through the eyelet 0, thus resulting in the disengagement of the member 14 from the other loop and thereby insuring its entire disengagement from the remaining parts of the puzzle consisting of the bar 10 and the loops 12. It will of course be understood that after the puzzle has been taken apart it can be placed together and the ingenious manipulation described is of course repeated in the reverse manner to accomplish this result.
From the foregoing description it will be apparent that the parts of the puzzle are simple, can be cheaply manufactured and that the puzzle as a whole presents an amusement for grown people and children, the object of which is to remove the member 14 from the other component parts of the device.
Having thus described my invention, I claim:
A puzzle comprising a bar of substantially rectangular configuration having enlarged eye portions formed at the ends thereof, a plurality of similar loops, eyelets formed on the ends of the loops and having the bar passing loosely therethrough with the eyelets interposed between the enlarged ends of the bar in such a manner to arrange the adjacent portions of the loops in crossed tively to the loops and the bar to result in relation, and a member formed With a pluthe disengagement of the member therefrom. 1O
