To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, ERNEST KoHLnR, a citizen of the United States, residing at Alameda, in the county of Alameda and State of California, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Games, of which the following is a specification.

This invention relates to a gameapparw tus and has as its principal object the construction of a game, which may be played in a number of different ways, which is also a puzzle, and which may be used as a wheel of fortune. These various results are accomplished by the novel construction and arrangement of parts described in the fol lowing specification and more specifically pointed out in the appended claims.

Referring to the drawings forming a part of this specification, Figure l is a View in plan of one side of my improved game. Fig. 2 is a view in plan of the opposite side. Fig. 3 is a. view in section through the game board. Fig. 4 is a plug used in connection therewith for closing the opening on the side of the board which is not being used.

Referring to corresponding parts in the several views by the same numerals of reference, the game consists of the circular plates 1 and 9, having the axial circumferential flanges 3, connected by a band l, which is rolled over these flanges. This band holds the plate 1 and 2 in its spaced relation and provides a hollow cavity 10, in which the balls 5 may be stored when not in use and into which they drop in several forms of the game. These plates are provided with the circular openings 6 and 7 respectively, and several plugs as 8 and 9 are provided by which these openings may be closed, the former closing only one opening while the latter is of such a length that it passes through both openings 6 and 7 and the end lies flush with the surface of the opposite plate. I also provide an opening 10 in the band 4, which serves both as a means for emptying the ball from a cavity 10, also as a place to keep the extra plug when not in use.

While I have illustrated the game board as being constructed of sheet metal it will also be understood that wood or other ma terial, may be used in the construction thereof.

The plate 1 is provided with a central fiat portion 12 raised above the outer portion of the plate and connected therewith by the incline 13. This construction gives a small central platform on which the balls are adapted to be held while endeavoring to drop them into the opening 6, and in using this form of the game the object is to place all the balls into the opening ,6 in the shortest possible time or as many balls as possible in a given time. The other plate 2 is provided with a series of arcuate members 14, substantially concentric with the central opening 7 and having certain slots 15 through which the balls may pass from the outer ring to the space inclosed by these members. The ends of these members are slightly curved inwardly as shown at 16 to assist in retaining the balls within the closed space in certain forms of the game.

This plate is provided with a number of divisions 17 around its outer periphery, which are numbered and used in certain games of chance as will be hereinafter described. This side of the board may be used in a great variety of ways. One method of using the board is to insert the long plug 8 through the opening 6 which brings the surface of the end flush with the surface of plate 2. The halls are then placed on the outer portion and the object of the game is to assemble them all within the space inclosed by the members 14L inthe shortest time or as many as possible in a given time. In doing this the curved portions 16 are of some assistance in retaining those balls already within the inclosure and the less the curve is made the harder it will be to retain the ball within the inclosure while the others are being placed therein.

Another method of playing this game is to place the short plug 9 in the openings 6 and with a given number of balls to assemble all within the inclosed central. space with as few dropping into the opening 7 as possible. Thus the person having the greatest number of balls within this closure and none remaining in'the outer inclosure would be the winner of the game.

The manner in which the numbered divisions 17 are used is to place either of the plugs in the openings 6 and one of the balls on the surface of plate 2. The plate is then rotated and if properly balanced will come to rest with one of the sides depressed and the ball will rest on this numbered position when the ticket, card, or other device bearing this number, receives the prize, or the board may be used in this manner for various purposes such as dice or other spinning devices are now used.

While I have shown the preferred embodiment of my invention it will be understood that minor changes may be made in detail and desi 'n Without departing from the principles thereof.

l/Vhat I claim as new and Wish to cover by Letters Patent is 1. A game board comprising two circular plates having outwardly extending flanges on the edges thereof, a band attached to said flanges and holding said plates in spaced relation to form a cavity therebetween, a raised central platform on one of said plates and a plurality of arcuate members attached to the other of said plates.

2. A game board comprising a circular body portion, axial extending rims formed around the periphery thereof on each side, said body having a hollow central cavity and openings communicating therefrom to both faces, and a raised central platform formed on one face of said body and communicating with said face by an inclined surface.

3. A game board comprising a circular body portion, axial extending rims formed around the periphery of each face thereof, a raised central platform formed on one face of said body, concentric arcuate members formed on the other face of said body, said body having a hollow central cavity and openings leading therefrom to both faces of said body.

41. A game board comprising a body portion, a rim formed around the periphery of said body portion, a plurality of arcuate members concentrically disposed on one face of said body portion and having narrow 5:

slots between adjacent ends of said members, said body having a central cavity and an opening therefrom to the other face of said body portion.
