MICHAEL BULIK, 0F CONEMAUGH, PENNSYLVANIA, ASSIGNOR 0F ONE-THIRD TO SAMUEL TROI-IANOVSKY AND ONE-THIRD TO THOMAS MEDVECZKY, BOTH 0F CONEIVIAUGH, PENNSYLVANIA.
COMBINED CAMP CHAIR AND TABLE.
Application filed August 28, 1915.
T 0 all whom it may concern Be it known that I, MICHAEL BULIK, a citizen of the United States, residing at Conemaugh, in the county of Cambria and State of Pennsylvania, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Combined Camp Chairs and Tables, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to certain new and useful improvements in a combined camp chair and table.
An object of the present invention is to provide a combined camp chair and table that is particularly adapted for picnic outings, and pleasure resorts in which the chairs are connected to the table with foot rests positioned between the table and chair.
A further object of the invention is to provide a combined camp chair and table that is connected to provide a substantially integral structure, but which is capable of collapsing, there being provided a table with oppositely-positioned chairs and foot rests.
With these general objects in view and others that will appear as the nature of the invention is better understood, the same consists in the novel construction, combination and arrangement of parts hereinafter more fully described, illustrated in the accompanying drawings, and then claimed.
In the drawings forming a part of this application and in which like designating characters refer to corresponding parts throughout the several views:Figure 1 is a side elevational View of a portion of a combined chair and table built in accordance with the present invention. Fig. 2 is a top plan View of the same. Fig. 3 is a perspective view, more clearly showing the link connection between the several elements. Fig. 4 is a detail perspective view of a portion of the foot rest and one of the table legs, and, Fig. 5 is a detail sectional view of a portion of the foot rest showing the slidable adjustment therefor.
Briefly described, the present invention aims to provide a combined camp chair and table that is especially adapted for pleasure resorts in which there is provided a table having connected thereto oppositely positioned foot rests while chairs are adjustably connected to the foot rests so that the distance between the chairs and table may be readily controlled.
Specification of Letters Patent.

Serial No. 47,802.
The device is extremely simple in construction and inexpensive to manufacture and embodies few parts that are liable to be damaged.
Referring more in detail to the accompanying drawings, the reference numeral 10 designates the chair section, 11 the foot rest, and 12 the table section. The chair 10 includes the seat 13 having hingedly connected to the rear edge thereof the back 1 1, while rear supporting legs 15 are hinged as at 16 to the lower and rear edges of the back and seat respectively. In order to hold the back 14 and legs 15 in alinement and at right angles to the seat 13, I have provided bracing links 17 and 18, the inner ends of each of which are received on a laterally-projecting pin carried by the side edges of the seat and retained thereon by the thumb nut 19, similar securing means 20 being provided for retaining the outer ends of the links 17 and 18 in operative position on the back and rear legs. The forward edge of the chair 10 is supported on the front legs 21 hinged at their upper ends as at 22 in cutout portions in the corners of the chair 13, the front legs 21 being held in an upright operative position by the forward links 23 connected at their inner ends as at 24 to the side edges of the chair bottom 13 in a similar manner to the connection 19 for the rear links 17 and 18, while the outer ends of the links 23 are connected as at 25 in a like manner to the outer sides of the legs 21.
The table section 12 includes the top 26, one-half of which top is shown in Fig. 1, it being understood that a chair and foot rest is positioned at opposite sides of the table 12, the inner edges of the table having hinged thereto as at 27 the corner supporting legs 28 that are held in upright supporting position with respect to the table top 12 by the link braces 29 connected as at 30 at each end thereof to the table top 13 and legs 28.
A foot rest is positioned between the chair 10 and table 12 and includes in detail a bar 31 cut-away at each end to provide a clearance for the hinged connection 32 of the lower ends of the front chair legs 21 while forwardly-directed channel guides 33 are carried by the bar 31, link braces 34: being connected at their upper ends to the joint 25 while the lower ends thereof are connected as at 35 to the outer sides of the channel guides 33. A platform 36 Constitutes the foot rest and is hingedly connected as at 37 at two opposite corners thereof, to the lower ends of the table legs 28, this construction being more clearly shown in Figs. 3 and 4:. The leg 28 carries a laterally-projecting pin 38 that is received in the slot 39 of the link brace 40, the said brace being mounted at its lower end on the pin 41 carried by the foot rest 36 and retained thereon by the thumb nut 42, a similar thumb nut 43 being mounted on the pin 38 so that the relative angular positions of the foot rest, table legs and table top are readily controlled. A guide rib or tongue 44 is formed on the side edges of the foot rest 36 and is adapted to be received in the channel guides 33, this construction being more clearly shown in Fig. 5, while the thumb screw 45 passes through the channel guides 33 and engages the said tongue to hold the table and chair in spaced relation.
From the above detailed description of the invention, it is believed that the construction and operation will be readily understood, it being noted that the chair and table are collapsible by releasing the several link connections from the adjacent parts while the chair is adjustable with respect to ing from the spirit and scope of the invention as claimed.
What I claim as new is A combined camp chair and table comprising a table section including a table top and supporting legs, link braces between the top and legs, a foot rest hingedly connected to the lower ends of said legs, the forward side edges of the foot rest being reduced to form tongues, link braces between the foot rest and table legs, said link connections being adjustable to permit the foot rest and table to assume angular positions, a chair section, a U-shaped frame hingedly connected to the front legs of the chair, the innerfaces of the side legs of the U-shaped frame being grooved to provide channels for the sliding reception of the tongues on the foot rest, and means for holding the U-shaped frame and foot rest in adjusted positions.
In testimony whereof I afiiX my signature.
MICHAEL BULIK.
