Further ohjects ot' my invention are to ailow the use ot smaller and llarger collars on tue same shirt: to employ the same kind ot collar hand solid in liront on dress and plain shirts; to employ a pair ot small linttons in the hack and front ot the collar hand instead of single huttons as is now usual; and to prevent sagging and pinching in front ot a dress shirt hy using a collar hand that not divided in front.

Referring to the drawings, l indicates the liront ot' a dress shirt` illustrating one embodiment of my invention which is open at 2 in the usual manner, and also preferably provided with an opening Il in its hack 4. The shirt is provided with a neck hand 5 which is separated only at the hack opening 3 of the shirt, and which is continuous in front to provide an attachment for insuring a smooth set ot the open, or split, shirt bosom. ln order to prevent troublesome rumpling or humping of the shirt just helow the neck hand at the hack, Vl provide the edges ot' the hack opening 3 with triangular cut out portions 6, or other suitable incisions. As shown, especially in Fig. 2, the garment is prm'ided with a haclttail '7 which teru'iiuates a slight distance helovv the waist line (Qi, a nd. with a central trout tail 9 of less width than the hody' ot the garment. This providesl a novel and very comfortable con'- struction which eliminates the 'unnecessary wad or roll formed around the waist or hips of a wearer in previous constructions.

The liront ot the neck hand 5 is shown provided with a central button hole l for attaching a collar '12 hy the usual long shank collar button 5021s shown in Fig. 3, and with a pair of auxiliary hutton holes 1l. spaced at the respective sides thereof' for attaching the collar hy two short collar lnittons i and 52 as shown in Fig. attached hy a pair of hnttons 58 and G0. as will he readily understood. By this improved construction, the auxiliary hnttons 51 and avoid all irritating pressure, enaille the front edges ot the collar 12 to he spaced apart for comfort, while the rear hutton.` and G0 eliminate the inconvenience and I'iuisance of the overlapping or double thickness ot the collar in the hack, all as will he clear Vfrom the drawings.

The'back of the collar 12 is further provided with a pair of auxiliary button holes at the sides ot' the usual central button hole for receiving the collar buttons 21 and 22. This prevents irritating pressure of the col- .lar buttons Q1 and 22' against the spinal column and avoids the inconvenience of a double thickness of collar band at the back. It' it is desired to attach the back ot' the collar 12 by a single buttonin the usual mannciypthe loop or tab 20 is placed over the button 55 in the central button hole 1S in the tali 1T. as shown in Fig. 1. If no collar is to be worn, a button can be inserted through thesuperposed loops 19 and Q0 for attachiny the neck band loosely and comfortably about the neck; or tabs 19 and 2O can be made to register with buttonholes 15 and 16.

While I have illustrated my invention to apply to a dress shirt, it will be obvious that it is equally applicable to the usual stili' shirts which open only at the back, and to coat shirts which open only in the front. lVhen applied to coat shirts, the button holes 10 and 11 are placed at the back of the collar band, and the tab 17 and loops ortabs 19 and 20 are provided at the front ends of the collar band. My invention is equally adaptable to tailored shirt-waists which are worn with detachable collars and to undershirts by omitting the tails 7 and 9.

It is obvious that those skilled in the art may vary the details of construction without departing from the spirit of my invention, and, therefore, I do not Wish to be limited to the above disclosure except as required by the claims.

That I claim is 1. A garment open front and back having a neck band continuous at the 'front and provided with the usual central front button hole for attaching, a. collar and with a pair of auxiliaryy front button holes spaced at the respective sides of the central button hole 'for attachment to a collar independently of said central hole.
