' scription;
e v a 1n the nature of an indivldual closet seat of hingedly connected sections,.whereby the which will appear ;as t he descriptionpro- Application filed July 9, 1915. Serial No. 38,883.
To all whom time y concern: 7 1 Be it known'that I, HUGO G. A. MoRnN,
a citizen of the United States, and a resident;
of the city of New York, borough of Brook-, 'lyn, in, the county of Kings and State of- New York, have invented-a new and Improved Sanitary Closet- Seat Cover,of which the following is a full, clear, and exact de- This invention relates to a sanitary. device cover.
The invention has for its general objects to provide" a device of this character which is light,,clui'able, cheap, sanitary and fold-- able was' to adapt it for individual .use, it
belng-foldable'so as to be conveniently carried or stored away' when not in use. 7,
A more specific object of the invention is;
the provision ofa cover made in a plurality cover can bereduced'to about one-quarter more or less of its orig nal size, the cover being of ovoid form and having an opening .to register with theopeningof the seat, and
is made preferably in four sections, whereby j .the rivet that passes through the 'front extremities of the front sections. folded the cover takes up verylittle space and can be conveniently carried or storedthe cover is collapsed transversely and then the rear sections sections.
With such objects in view, and others ceeds, the invention'comprises various novel features of-j construction and arrangement of partslwhich 'will be set forth with particularity inn the following description and claims appended, hereto.
Inf-the, accompanying drawing, which illustrates one embodiment of the invention, and wherein, s1m11ar characters of reference indicate corresponding parts in all the on the line 2- 2, Fig. 1; Fig 3 is a. plan view showing the cover-with the sections having been folded through the first stage;
and Fig. 4 is. aplan'view showing the finaL stage of folding of the sections.
Referring to the drawing, A designates a closetseat cover which is ovoid or of any other form to correspond to the shape of the seat, and it is-made of any suitable material,-
such as sheet paper, which may be treated or coated in such a manner as to readily be kept in a sanitary condition. The cover is are folded into thefront.
Patent;

rivets so as to facilitate the keeping of the device a sanitary condition The inner marginal portion 5 of the cover is bent downwardly so as to stiffen the cover, insure its. proper seatingon the closet seat,-and tomakethe cover more comfortable.
When the cover is open for use itappears as shown in 1, but when it is desired to foldthe cover it is collapsed by applying transverse pressure at opposite points a and b. and toward each other, whereby the 'sections will be folded to the position shown 7 in Fig. 3, and when this first stageof folding is completed, the rear sections 2 and 2 are swung around so as to fold in between the front'sections land l as shown in F ig 4. For this purpose the rear sections 2 and 2 are shorter than the front sections so that the rear tips of the rear'sectionswill clear away.
When it is From the foregoing description taken in a connection with the accompanying drawings, the advantages of the construction and method of operation will .be readily under stood by those skilled in the art to which the invention appertains, and while I have described the principle of operation, together with the article which I now consider to'be' I Y the best embodiment thereof, I desire to :haveitunderstood that the article shown is merely illustrative and that suchchanges may be made when desired as fall within the scope of the appended claims. Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure'by Letters ing a plurality of sections, the sections being arranged end to end and each section having both ends pivotally connected with the adjacent ends of juxtaposed sections, the axes of the pivotal connections being at right-angles to the plane of the sections.
being at right-angles to the plane of the sections, whereby the said sectionsfold in their own planes, and one pair of sections being shorter than the other pair to permit the shorter sections to be folded in between the other sections.
3. A cover of the class described composed of four sections forming an ovoid structure, pivots connecting the adjacent endsof juxtaposed sections together, the pivots being arranged approximately in the transverse and longitudinal axes of the cover, and of the same number as the sec tions, and pieces applied to the faces of the sections and covering the-pivots.
4. A cover of the class described comprising an ovoid body having an ovoid opening, the marginal portion around the opening being bent downwardly, said body being divided in four sections pivotally connected together, the pivotal points being located in approximately longitudinal and transverse lines, the two rear'sections being shorter than thefront sections, whereby the rear sections can fold in between the front sections.
In testimony whereof I have signed my name to this specification in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
