as PAT T OFF GUY I-I. MYERS, OF ARCADIA, INDIANA.
FLY-PAPER HOLDER.
Specification of Letters Patent. PatentedJ 4;, 1916.
Application filed October 19, 1914. Serial No. 867,487.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, GUY H. MYERS, a
citizen of the United States, residing at.
for use.
An object of the invention resides in the .provision of a simple,
sive device of the above character, in which the paper engaging elements thereof are relatively adjustable, one to the other, thus permitting of the holder being employed for Sheets of various sizes. 7
WVith the above and other objects of similar nature in view the invention consists in' the construction, combination and arrangement of parts set forth in and falling within the scope of the appended claims.
'In the drawing: Figure 1 is a perspective view of the improved holder in readiness for use. Fig. 2 is a top planview of the device. Fig. 3 is an end view thereof, and Fig; 4 is a sectional view taken on the line 4-4 of Fig. 2 showing the manner of suspending the holder from awall or other object.
Referring now more particularly to the drawing, the holder comprises a hollow bellshaped base '10 of relatively heavy material in which are secured the inner ends 11 of a pair of guide frames 12, 12', said frames each including a pair of mutually connected wires which are twisted together adjacent the base/and directed laterally therefrom as indicated at 13. The free ends of each pair of wiresare then directed oppositely'from each other as at 14 with corresponding. por-, tions of said pairs disposed in spaced substantially parallel relation. Adjustably supported novel and ineXpen-' from i the guide frames 12, 12 are paper engaging clips 15, each including the usual pivotally connected spring pressed gripping jaws 16, and the finger pieces 17 whereby said jaws may be conveniently released. In mounting these clips on the frames 12, 12 there are formed on the lower jaws' thereof a pair of-aper- ,tured ears 18, said ears slidably engaging corresponding portions 14 of the frames and being limited in. outward movement with respect to the base 10 by means of eyes 19 formed at the terminals of said portions. Thus when it is desired to apply the fly paper to the holder, justed along the frames 12, 12 either toward or away from each other, depending on the size of the sheet, with opposite edges of'the paper received and tightlyclamped between the jaws 16. The article being now ,in readiness for use may be positioned either upon a table or other object as in Fig. 1,
'or supported from the wall, as indicated in Fig. 4, by means of a nail 20 which is engaged in a key hole slot 21 formed in the bottom of the base 10.
What is claimed, is I 1. A fly paper holder comprising a base,
the clips 15 are ad spaced intermediately supported guide members extending at opposite sides of the base, and in substantially parallel relation, and relatively adjustable paper engaging members connecting corresponding ends of said guide members.
2. A fly paper holder comprising a base,
substantially parallel guide members ar-- ranged at opposite sides of the base, each including a pair of mutually connected wires, secured to and extending laterally from the base, and having their free end portions oppositely directed, and paper engaging'clips connecting corresponding free end portions of said guide members and relatively adjustable longitudinally thereof.
In testimonywhereof, I aflix my signature, in the presence. of two witnesses. I
