IMPROVEMENT IN FENCES.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 116,657, dated July 4', 1871.
To all whom 'it may concern:
Be it known that I, TIMOTHY C. NVooD, of
'Augusta, in the county of Kalamazoo and State Fig. 2 is an end elevation ofthe same. Fig. 3 is,

A represents the cast-metal posts, which consist preterably of a broad plate, B, with a longitudinal rib, O, on each side, a circular hase, D, and a cap, E, at the top, the latter for supporting the lower rail I?. G represents laterally-projecting arms, one at each side, near the top, for the connection ot' the braces H, by which the top structure is confined to the metal posts. I replatter.

Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent- 1. The two posts, having arms G G and seat E on each, the post N and the rods H, combined, constructed, and arranged as described, "to support the panel in a vertical posit-ion.
2. The two iron posts, the two wooden posts, the top and bottom rails, the foin1 braces, and the wires, all combined, constructed, and arranged as described, to form an improved panel of fence.
