and useful Improvements in Key-Holder s of which the following is a specification.

The invention relates to key holders, and

has for an object to provide a simple device that can be cheaply manufactured and used for carrying keys, the device being so arranged and constructed, and also on account of its cheapness of manufacture, that it can be used as an advertising novelty.

The invention contemplates, among other features, the provision of a key holder which can be used as an advertising novelty and which also preferably includes an identification card adapted to have the name of the owner thereon, the key holder being so arranged and constructed that keys can be individually applied thereto and as easily removed therefrom so that one key can be removed from the key holder or connected thereto without disturbing the other keys.

In the further disclosure of the invention reference is to be had to the accompanying drawings, constituting a part of this speci-- fication, in which similar characters of reference denote corresponding parts in all the views, and in which:

Figure 1 is a rear elevation of the key holder showing the manner of arranging a key thereon; Fig. 2 is a front elevation of the key holder; Fig. 3 is a sectional view taken diametrically through the body of the key holder; Fig. 4 is a perspective view of one of the members; Fig. 5 is a perspective view of one of the key holding members; Fig. 6 is a sectional view of a modified form of key holder; Fig. 7 is a view of the plate or member used in connection with the I modified form shown in Fig. 6; and Fig. 8

Referring more particularly to the views, I provide a plate or disk 10 which, in this instance, is shown circular and which provides a front flat face 11 that can contain an advertisement, photograph or any other suitable inscription. The plate or disk is bent or formed to provide a circular rim 12 which is preferably formed by bending the edge of the plate or disk rearwardly upon itself, as shown, the said rim 12 having a series of palrs of apertures 13 therein. A wafer or identlfication card 14 is adapted to be pasted against the rear face of the plate ordisk 10, with its edge lying beneath the mm 12 so that it will beheld in place, said wafer being adapted to receive the name and address of the owner of the key holder.

A series of key holding members 15 are provided, each consisting of a single piece of spring-like wire 16 bent in a U-shaped form and terminating in oppositely bent hooks 17. It will be seen that when one of the members 15 is pressed together to move the hooks 17 toward each other the said hooks can be arranged to pass through a pair of the apertures 13 and then upon releasing the member. the expansibility of the spring-like wire will cause the hooks to catch in the rim and hold the member against removal, a key 18 having been first arranged to have the member pass through the loop or apertured end thereof so that when the member is applied to the rim the key will be held upon the key holder set forth, as shown. With a construction of the character described it will be seen that a number of keys can be individually supported on the key holder and arranged individually thereon. Further, it will be seen that the keys can be individually removed and :that the user can at any time place a key upon the key holder or as easily remove the same therefrom with out disturbing any of the other keys. The key holding members, when applied to the rim, willbe capable of swinging movement thereon in view of the connection of. the hooks with the rim and thus when the key holding members are not in use they will lie 7 fiat against the rim so that the key holder can be readily carried in the vest pocket and will take up very little room.

In Fig. 6 I disclose a modified form of key holder and in which instance the plate or disk is indicated by the numeral 19 and the rim by the numeral 20, the rim being separate from the plate or disk 19 and when applied to the rear face thereof being held in place by the edge 21 of the plate or disk and which is bent around the edge of the rim, as shown. The key holding members 15 are applied to the rim 20 in the same manner as set forth heretofore and the device shown in the modified form can also be used with the wafer or identification card 14;

as shown, a covering 22 of celluloid or the like being adapted to be fitted around the plate or disk 19 and have an inscription,

' The key holder described can be chea ly manufactured and aside from being used as a key holder will constitute an advertisin novelty which, when made in large quantiing. members having portions thereof adapted to pass through the pairs of apertures in the rim for holding the key holding members thereon.

2. In a key holder, a plate having a rim thereon, said rim having a series of pairs of apertures therein, and a series of key holding members having portions thereof adapted to pass through the pairs of apertures in the rim for holdingthe key holding members thereon, said key holding members extending radially to the said rim.

, 3. In a key holder, the combination with a plate, of an apertured rim thereon, and key holding members, each consisting of a single piece of U-shaped wire having portions thereof passing through the apertures of the rim to swingingly support the key holding members thereon.

4. As a new article of manufacture, a key holder comprising a single piece of material bent to form a plate having a rim bent upon itself and provided with a series of openings, and U-shaped key holding members each formed of a single piece of material, said key holding members having portions thereof passing through the openings in the rim to support the key holding members upon the rim.

5. As a new article of manufacture, a key holder comprising a single piece of material bent to form a-plate having a rim bent upon itself and provided with a series of openings, U-shaped key holding members each formed of a single piece of material, with the said key holding members having portions thereof passing through the openings in the rim to support the key holding members upon the rim, and a wafer lying against the rear face of the plate and having its edges lying beneath the rim to be held in place thereby.
