SANITARY DEVICE FOR MASSAGE IMPLEMENTS.
Application filed January 26, 1915.
T all whom it may concern:
tary Devices for Massage Implements, of
which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to a sanitary device for massage implements and has for its object to provide, in a manner as hereinafter set forth, a sanitary cap tiapable of being detachably connected to the flexible massage cup now in general use and after being employed readily removed and destroyed whereby it prevents the cap per se contacting with the body or face of a person during a massage treatment and under such conditions a sanitary massage implement will be set up. 4
A further object of the invention is to provide a device for the purpose set forth which is simple in its construction and .ar-
rangement, readily attached to the massage implement, and inexpensive.
With the foregoing and other objects in View the invention consists of the novel construction, combination and arrangement of parts as hereinafter more specifically described and illustrated in the accompanying drawing wherein is shown an embodiment of the invention, but it is to, be understood that changes, variations and modifications can be resorted to which come within the scope of the claim hereunto appended.
In the drawings wherein like reference characters denote corresponding parts throughout the several. views :Figure 1 is a side elevation of a massage implement showing the adaptation thereto of a cap in accordance with this invention. Fig. 2 is a vertical sectional view. of the implement showing the cap in position thereon. Fig. 3 is a top plan view of an implement with the cap attached thereto. Fig. 4 is an inverted plan having the cap secured thereto.
Referring to the drawings in detail, 1 denotes the fiexible massage implement, of inverted cup-shape, and which is of a form now in general use, the implement is flaring in contour and constructed of rubber. The

smaller end of the implement 1, carries means as at 2, for detachably connecting the implement to a means for revolving it.
A cap in accordance with this invention and which is detachably secured to the implement 1 is constructed of thin fibrous material preferably paper, and comprises a cone-shaped body portion 3, which terminates in a flange and the latter is provided at diametrically opposite points, with V- shaped projections 5.
The pocket or recess of the implement 1 is indicated at 6 and against its bottom 7 abuts the apex 8 of the body portion 3 and the latter has a portion of its outer face snugly engaging a portion of the side wall of the recess or pocket 6.
The flange 4 snugly engages the edge of the implement l ard also extends upon the outer face thereof, and the V-shaped projections 5 also engage the outer face of the implement 1. The flange 4 and V-shaped projections 5 are employed for detachably connecting a cap to the implement 1 and the band 90f the flange 4, which engages the edge of the implement 1, constitutes the working face. of the device when the imple ment 1 is employed for massaging.
The material from which the cap is formed is of sufiicient durability to last when the implement 1 is used for massage treatment.
What I claim is:-
A sanitary cap for a massage implement comprising a cone-shaped body formed of thin flexible material having its base provided with a flange capable of over-lapping the edge of a massage cup whereby said cap isdetachably secured to the cup, the bend of said flange constituting the working face of a cap when the cup is used, and a pair of projections carried by said flange and providing means in connection with the flange for detachably securing thecap to the cup.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
MICHAEL DE LESEO.
