My present invention relates .to s certain new and useful improvements in removable.

supplemental transparent covers for boxes,

as for instance boxes containing merchan-' dise sold from the original package, such: as cigars and other forms of tobacco, cand1es, cakes, fruits, etc.,wherein it is desirable to display the contents of the box/but at the pheric impurities. V

One object of the inventionis to provide a supplemental cover madeup of standard units that may be assembled as desired to form a cover of the proper size'tofit any same time protect the same from atmosboX, thus :greatly reducing thecost of manu-V facture of .the covers and'making it possible" to fill orders-morepromptly, as one set' of dies will be sufficient for a variety of sizes of covers, and the cover units may be manu factured in quantities and stored away for assembly into covers when desired.

A corner unit for a cover frame, comprising a plate having portions arranged at right angles to each other and in the same horizontal plane, each corner unit having means for engaging the face of a' transparent cover plate in the angle between said right angle portions and one of said portions having a rigid, integrally formed member provided with means for engaging and supporting a box-lid. r

A corner unit for a cover frame, comprising a plate having portions arranged at right angles to each other and in the same horizontal plane, each corner unit having means for engaging the face of a transparent cover plate located in the angle between said right angle portions and one of said portions having a rigid, integrally formed upwardly and backwardly inclined member provided with a rearwardly ex- Copies of this patent may be obtained for tending lip to receive and support a hinged box-lid.

A corner unit for a cover frame, comprising-a plate having portions arranged at right angles to each other and in the same horizontal plane, each corner unit having means for engaging the face of a transparent cover plate in the angle between said right angle portions, and one of said portions having a rigid,'integrally formed up- Wardly inclined member provided with means to engage a, box-lid, and the said portion also provided with a lip lying substantially parallel with the face thereof to receive the end ofa spacer strip.
