Description

PATENT OFFICE.
IIENEY` sMITH, on NEW YORK, N. Y.
|MjP`RovEMENr In` MEo'lclNE-cAsEs.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 115,121, dated May 23, 1871.
`To all whom 'it may concern:
Be it known that I, HENRY M. SMITH, of the city, county, and State of New York, have invented a new and Improved Medicine-Oase, 85o.; andthat the following is a full la-nd exact description thereof, referencebein g had to the accompanying drawing and to the letters of reference marked thereon making a part of this specification. y
. The object of this invention is to construct ay case for holding vials of homeopathic medicines, &c.,in such manner as will admit of the one part or tray sliding in the other part or case, and yet prevent the tray from accidentally dropping out of the case when in lthe pocket or under any circumstances, thus at all times keeping the vials safely in 'place without danger `of breaking `or disarrangement.
In the accompanying drawing, Fig. 1 represents a'sectionalview of my invention, and Fig. 2 a plan view of same.
Similar letters of reference indicate like parts inthe several figures.
`Arepre'sents a pocket-case for containing vials of homeopathic medicines, &c. This case is made of two parts, the outside case B, and trayG.
Heretofore cases made in a similar manner have been defective in that the tray C would, after a little use, work so easily in the case in and out without catching or sticking in the case.
The spring c instead of bein gv applied to the under side of the tray C may be applied to the sides of the tray or to the inner side ofthe case; or, if desired, instead of .one springftwo or more may be employed; therefore, I do not wish to confine myself to merely placing the spring on the bottom of the tra-y, nor to the use of but one single spring; but Y What I do claim as new, and desire to se cure by Letters Patent, is-l As a new article of manufacture, a pocket medicine-case, `or other similar contrivance, constructed with one or more springs, in the manner, and for the purpose hereinbefore described.
, HENRY M. SMITH. Witnesses:
