This inventionrelates to folding crates; The object of the invention resides in the provision of a folding crate Which can be easily and quickly set up or folded and drawings wherein like characters of reference denote corresponding parts in the several views, and in Whichp Figure 1 is a perspective view of the crate set up; Fig. 2, a plan View of the crate With the top broken away; Fig. 3', a section on the line 3-3 of Fig. 2; Fig. 4, a section on'the line 1- 1 of Fig. 2; Fig. 5, a section on the line 5-5 of Fig- 2; Fig. 6, a vview similar to Fig, 5 looking ii the opposite direction;

'Referring to the drawings the improved crate is shown as comprising a bottom member 10 to the longitudinal edges of Which are hingedly connected front and- rear members 11 and 12 respectively. Hingedly secured to the free longitudinal edge of the rear member 12 is a top member 13 which carries eye elements 14 for a purpose that will presently appear. Hingedly, connected to the ends of the front member 11 are side members 15 and 16 respectively, While eye elements 17 are carried by the front member thereof. Hinged to the rear member 12 con trally of the latter and extending trans 11 at the free longitudinal edge member 12.

In this manner the bottom, front, rear and .side members of the crate are detachably set up as will be obvious.

Pivoted to the free ends of the partition 18 are securing arms 30 and 31 and struck fromithis partition are tongues 32 and 33 withivhich the arms 30 and 31 are adapted to be engaged to hold said arms against the partition. In securing the partition 18 in 1 up position the eye elementsle and 17 aline set up'positionthe arms 30 and 31 are en-v gaged between the front member 11 and rod 19 and then engagedwith the tongues 32 and 33 respectively. Vvhen the crate is in set and a sealing Wire 34 is passed through the eye elements to secure the crate locked.

To fold the crate the sealing Wire 34k is first removed andthe top member 13 swung to open position. The arms 30 and 31 are then disengaged from the tongues 32 and 33 i and from between the front member 11 and the rod 19. The arms 30 and 31 arethen vengaged against the partition 18 between the latter andlthe tongues 32 and 33. The

partition 18 is then folded against the in .ner side of the rear member 1-2.v The arms 20,21, 25 and 26 are then disengaged from respective tongues 22, 23, 27 and 28' and then folded upon the] inner side ofthefftont withdrawn fromthe openings 24i'iand respectivelyafter which the arms and 25 I are engaged with respective tongues 22 and 27, while the arms 21 and 26 are engaged through openings respectively in the front member 11 and the side members member 11. The bottom member 10 is then folded against the outer side of the front 'member, the rear-member against-the inner side of the bottom member and ,thextop against the outer side of thearear'member.

. With the parts thus folded the seal wire 34 is passed through eye elements 17 and 1.4 tosecure'the crate in a folded state.
