HOSE-SUPPORTER.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented Aug. 3, 1915.
Application filed July 28, 1914. Serial No. 853,672.
To all whom it may concern: I
Be it known that I, HELEN BANG, a subject of the Czar of Russia, residing at New York, in the county of New York and State of New York, have invented new and useful Improvements in Hose-Supporters, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to hose supporters and it consists in the novel features hereinafter described and claimed.
An object of the invention is to provide a hose supporter of simple and durable structural arrangement adapted to be applied to the hose at and about the knee joint of the wearer and which serves to efficiently support the hose and at the same time does not interfere with the free movement of the leg at the knee joint.
In the accompanying drawings: Figure l is a perspective view of the supporter illustrating the relative positions of the parts when the supporter is applied to the leg. Fig. 2 is a plan view of the supporter.
The supporter includes a band 1 which is preferably of elastic material and which is adapted to encircle the leg of awearer immediately below the knee joint and knee cap. This band is provided at its ends with securing devices 2 which when connected together hold the band in the position stated. A tab 3 is suitably connected with the band 1 and in turn is adapted to be connected in any suitable manner with a supporting strap carried by one of the articles of apparel of the wearer. Strap sections 4 are connected in any suitable manner with the band 1 and the ends of the strap sections 4 are connected together by means of a flexible pad 5. When the supporter is applied to the leg the pad 5 is adapted to rest against the forward portion of the upper leg above the upper edge of the knee cap. The pad 5 is provided with suitable tabs 6 which are adapted to be connected with the support- 1ng straps attached to the apparel of the wearer.
When the supporter is applied to the leg the tab 3 will be behind the leg while the tabs 6 will be at a forward portion of the leg but spaced from each other. Inasmuch as the band 1 surrounds the upper portion of the hose the said band will efliciently sup- 1 in position. At the same time the knee cap of the wearer is located between the pad 5 and the band 1 and consequently the free movement of the leg at the knee is not interfered with.
Having described the invention what is claimed is A hose supporter comprising an elastic band, a securing device connected with the band, strap sections connected with the band, a pad connected with the straps and securing deylices connected in spaced relation to the pa In testimony whereof I afiix my signature in presence of a witness.
