In carrying out my invention I may make use of a revolving sprinkler head which is attached tea rotatable supply member, the
'p'arts bing so conformed that the main direction of the spray or stream from the revolving sprinklinghead is deflected from a, perpendicularwhile'the axis of the revolving sprinkling head is directed at any desired point of the compass. The supply member to which therevolving sprinkler head is attached is supported to rotate upon a vertical axis and by means of mechanism permitting the free rotation of the parts on such vertical axis, while the stream issuing therefrom is deflected from such vertical axis and is caused to impingengainst and cause the rotation of the revolving sprinkler head. To the supply member I attach a wind vane adapted in its operation to direct the streams issuing-from the sprinkler head against the wind or current of air.
In the accompanying drawings 1' have shown that embodiment of 'my invention adapted to use in protecting the roof of a building against fire without limiting myself, howevento such or any particular em bodiment thereof.
