GAME APBARATU'S.
SpecicatiiinofLetters Patent. i
Patented italy rit.,
Application f1ed Apri125, 1914. Serial No.. 534,502.
vide a game in which the ring-board or point bearing element is adjustable, thereby variating the science of the game at the option ot' the participants.
Still another object is to rotatably mount the alley or track of the game, thereby 4facilitating turning of the same from one of the participantsto the other, since the game can be played by only one person at a time.
Other objects as well as the nature. char acteristic features and scope ot' my invention will be more readily understood from the. yfollowing description taken in connection with the accompanying drawings and pointed out in the claims forming a part of l this specilication.
`Referring to the drawings: Figure 1 is a top plan view of a game constructed in accordance with my invention, Fig. 2 is a longitudinal sectional view showingA to advantage the turning table upon which 'the alley is mounted, likewise, the supporting base, Fig. 3 is a transverse sectional view of the same taken on the line 3-3 of Fig. 2, and Fig.` 4 is an elevational and sectional view, respectively, of one of the game pieces used in the present instance.
In the drawings wherein is illustrated the preferred embodiment of this invention, an alley or track A is provided comprising inclined side walls B, one end of each of which is in engagement with an end member C. said inclined side pieces B being provided with a pair of transversely ext-ending slots D, which are adaptedfor sliding engagement with a ring-board or point bearing element E. the latter in the present instancecomprising an ordinary plate or board, provided with a multiplicity .of uniformly spacedapart circular openings F. each ot which is provided with la number thereover. the upper marginal edge of said board extending beyond the'marginal edges of the inclined sides B.
A bottom Gr is mounted betweenthe inclined sides B and extend to only approximately half-way the sides whil a supplemental bottom or track proper H is provided, which in the present instance comprises a board, one end of which isengggcal with the top of the bottom proper G, sb as to dispose the supplemental bottom or track consistent with the inclined sides B, said bottom H having a dead-line I extending4 transversely thereo.l and being in connecti( i with a semi-circular boundary line J, which is .not to be encroached upon when actuating the game pieces l. each of which comprises a disk of wood. rubber or any' other suitable material, provided with a central aperture, thereby facilitating the actuating of the game pieces by the operator.
A turn-table li is revolubly associated with, the bottoni (i. permitting the entire lalley to be rotated in the arc of. a circle. so
as to be placed directly in front of the person who is to play the game. especially adapting the same for use on a table or the like, where the participants of the game are seated about the table. thereby permitting the alley to be placed in front of any one of the players, after the other has inished. Elastic feet M are carried bythe rbottom G and H, thereby providing anchoring means for the alley when it is desired to actuate the members K thereon.
In playing the game, the game-pieces la are engaged with' the supplemental bottom or track H within the semi-circular boundary line- J, having the periphery thereof i in engagement with the board or bottom H, the disk K being held between the thumb and third finger and the first finger placed behind the disk, so as to shoot or roll it over the track through the' openings F in the ring-board E, the ypenings F having numbers thereover, so as to indicate the number of points secured bv actuating the game-piece therethrough. Each of the participants in the game. is 'given three game- ].iieces or disks K and it any two or three of the same are passed through the openings F in' consecutive order. the numbers `which represent the4 openings through which they pass will be added togethenand then multiplied by two or three, respectively. Of
H at an inclination. the grade of which is m 1 1.. :his .Lp-.24.
passed will be multiplied and then addedv and multiplied in the usual manner, as indieated al Any predetermined number oit' points may be used, three-hundred usually bein is in the tirst groove.` as indicated in Figs. l and in the drawings, but when a more seientiilio game is desired. the ring-board E is remored from the first groove and placed in the second groove. 'thereby providingt a flap betiveen the terminal ot the supplemental bottom H and the ring-board, caus- .inn more accurate iudgmentbto be used, in order to aetuate' the laainepieees tlirouejh the openings. The Ausual number ot points for the lateral positioningT ofthe ring-board E is seven-hundred points. Should the participant in the ,fame slide his hand over the dead-line l. When actuatingv the gamepieoes K, his roll *will be considered void.
lt will be understood that the above description and aeeompanyin,gf drawings oomprehend onlyv the general preferred embodiment oit. my invention and that Various minor Changes in details otl construction, proi'iortion and arrangement of parts, may be made Within the scope-ot the appended claims and Without sacrificingr any of the advantages of my invention.
Having thus fully described my invention what l claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is ,z
1. A game including a revolubly mounted alley, a ring-board adjustable longitudinally on said alley and ,frame-pieces adapted to be moved on said alleyand thii'oueh openings in the rinboard for obtaining1 a predetermined score.
2. A game apparatus*including an alley having a bottom terminating short of one "he game. when the ring-board of the ends et the alley, an :Sipertiufed ringboard mounted between the termiiml of said bottom and the end olf the alley and remote trom both, and yajauie pieces aetuatable 0n the bottom oit the alley and adapted to be passed through the apertures of the ringlmardL .tor obtainingt a predetermined score.
Sil. gaine including an alley, aboard pro- -vided with a plurality ot openings, adjust-- able longitudinali v in said alley whereby the science of the game may be variated, and game-pieces for actuation on the alley and through the openings of said board.
fl. A trame board ineludiiig an alley, a ring-board adjustable longitudinally on said alley, and provided with a phualitjiv of openings each of vvhieh bears a number, and
V,frame-pieces adapted to be rolled on said alleir and through said openings for obtain ine a predetermined score.
ejame apparatus including' an alley, altern'iinus o't the bottom of said alley stopping' short ot one end of the alley, a ringboard.r i'irovided with numbered openings, adjustable longitudinally in the alley between said terminus and the end of the alley and remote from both at all times, an( game pieces aetuatable on the alley and adapted to be passed through said numbered openings tor obtainingr a predetermined score.
G. A Ifame including an alley, a ring'- boa-rd longitudinally adiustable with respect to the alley and provided With a plurality ot' uniformly spaced-apart numbered openings. the bottom of said alley being' inclined and having its highest point lying in close proximity to said opening, and circular frame-pieces adapted to be rolled on their peripheries on the inclined bottom and through said openings for obtaining a pre determined seore. l
