WILLIAM WUNSCH, OF BROOKLYN, NEW YORK.
GAME-PIECE.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented June29, 1915.
Application filed October 16, 1914. Serial No. 866,981.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, WILLIAM Wonson, a citizen of the United States, residing at Brooklyn, in the county of Kings and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Game-Pieces; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
This invention relates to game pieces or accessories for use with a game-board, and one of the principal objects of the invention is to provide a device of simple construction which can be used as a top for spinning on a game board and said game piece being provided with a ring or open portion which will show through it certain figures upon the game board.
Another object of the invention is to provide a simple device for the purpose referred to which may be made from a single strand of wire bent into form and provided with a point upon which the device is adapted to spin, and a series of coils bent into the form of a ring, and the terminal ends of the strand of wire being twisted together to form a stem for the top.
The foregoing and other objects may be attained by means of the construct-ion illustrated in the accompanying drawing, in which the figure illustrates a perspective view of a game piece made in accordance with this invention.
Referring to the drawing, the numeral 1 designates a point or peg upon which the top is adapted to be spun and extending from said point are the three rings 2, 8 and 4:, which are formed integral with the point and the two terminal ends of the strand of wire are twisted together, as shown at 5 to form a stem for the top. The rings 3, 4: and 5 provide a central opening 6 which when the top has been spun upon the board will indicate certain figures on the board through the space 6 to determine certain movements in the game. The rings forming a flat surface upon opposite sides will always lie fiat upon the board after each spinning, and this feature of the top is deemed of some importance in'the particular game to be played.
Slight changes may be made in the details of construction without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as defined in the claims.
What is claimed is 1. A game piece or accessory for game boards comprising a spinning device formed from a single strand of wire and comprising a spinning point or peg, a series of rings connected to the point, and a stem consisting of the terminal ends of the strand of wire twisted together.
2. A game piece or accessory comprising a point or peg, a series of strands of wires formed integral with the peg and bent into the form of a ring having flat sides and the terminal ends of the wire being twisted together to form a spinning stem.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
WILLIAM WUNSCII.
