This invention relates to improvements in attachments'for gas stoves and particularly to an attachment for use in broiling and baking, whereby such last mentioned operar tions will be carried on. directly over the open flame burners without the necessity of' using an oven Ior other additional structure. Referring now more particularly to the characters ofreference on the drawings, the

numeral 1 designates the rectangular frame i of the stove which of course, when the burner is used for ordinary cooking purposes, would be provided lwith suitable grates underneath which would be the burner 2. The'numeral 7 designates a carrier projectingthrough slots 5, in the frame 3, an d' each being vprovided within one of the members 4 with a roller 8.

vThe broiler consistsof a lower pan 9 hinged to which, at one end by means of a pin 10,*is a cover 11, such cover being engageable bya catch 12 fastened to the mem ber 9 for locking it in' closed position with relation to the member 9. Said member 9 extends' between the guide lianges Gand is capable of sliding therebetween for the entire length of the frame 3. The pin 10 prov jects through the carriers 7 and is provided p' on each end with a thumb screw 12a to hold it'in position in said carriers 7. The member 9 is provided with a handle 13 at one end and a handle 14: at the otherend and with a hook 15 at the same end -that it is provided with the handle 13. The member 11 is provided with a hook 1G at the end opposite to the end on which the member 9 is provided with thehook 15.

The numeral 17 designates a handle member adapted to removably engage either the hook 15 or 16. When the broiler is'to bev used,I the meat'is placed in the member 9. The member 11 is then secured thereto by means ofthe catch 12. The handle 17 is .then engaged with the hook 15 and used to move the broiler back and forth along the frame 3 over the burners 2. This moving operation is made easy by means of the rollers' 8 and is guided by the lianges G. vWhen the 'meat is to be cooked on the other side, the member 9-f11 is turned on its pivotal point 10 so that thel member 11 comes over the llame from theburner 2. The handle member 17'is then disengaged from the hook 15 and engaged with the hook 16' whereupon the. movement of the broiler can again be carried on over the blaze.

The-numeral 18 designates a small opening adapted to be-closed by`a sliding cover or plug through which thejuices may be ing ioperation or b'efore,'4 if desired.

A device of the character described comprising a frame, carriers movable along said frame, a pin disposed in said carriers, a cooking utensil having one end pivotally mountedon said pin, said cooking utensil being arranged to be turned on said pin to reverse the position of the cooking utensil, as described.
