WILLIAM e. BUNTEN, on ooAL CREEK,
cononnno, 'AssmNoR or ONE-HALF To MICHELE FABRIZIO, F ooAL CREEK, 'comme'. A
T0 all 'whom z'tmay concern.'
Beit known that I, WILLIAM G. BUNTEN,
4a. citizen of the United States, residing at .Coal Creek, inthe county of Fremont and State lof Colorado, have invented new and useful Improvementsin Combination Tack?l rvPullers, of which the following is a speedi- 'cation This invention relates to combination tools and it consists in the novel features herein- An object of the invention isto provide` a combination tool especially adapted tofbe used for pulling tacks, nails and so forth although the tool may be conveniently-used as pliers and also as wire twisters and cuts The tool iS provided at the ends of its handles with chisel extremities and wrench sockets of different dimensions and the tool is provided at the extrernitiesof its jaw members with scraping edges adapted to be used for removing gaskets, washers, or the likefrom couplings or 'fittings and their,
seats. i With' the above object in view the tool comprises two membe'rs pivotally connected together-'and being of the same general shape and configuration; These members are proyvidedwlth jaw portions and handle portions, the' extremities of the handle portions 'being provided with a chisel 'end and wrench sockets. The jaw portions are provided with lbeveled ends or extremitieswhich'may be used'for scraping or cleaning' the parts of -boilers'or machinery and the said jaw pontions are further provided upon their inner sides with mated recesses, rougliened Surfaces andI cutting edges as will be hereinafter erqilainexl.4 l
In the accompanying drawing Figure 1 is a perspective view of the tool. The other figures are detailed views of the several featuresthereof., f
The tdol comprises members 1 which are `pivoted together as at 2. The said members .consistent vjaw portions 3 and handle por,-
'time 4. One of the handle portions 4 is provided' with a chisel end 5 and the other hanf dle portion 4`isfprovided with wrench sockets 6 of dii'erent dimensions.`
As ythe jaw portions of the two members 1 are alike a, description of one will answer.
Specification of Letters Patent.y Patented June 1915. .application sied August 1, 1918. seal no. rea/.174.
one side adapted to be usedas a fulcrum` when the tool is used. The; bevels 7 are located at the opposite sides of the jaw. perf.
"tions .3 from the said humps, Y
` Just wit 'n the beveled edge portion 7 each 'a'wf'p rtion3 is provided with a trans. verse yvd1sposed groove 9 and just-within the said groove each jaw with a dat surface `l0.
.At the inner edge of the surface 10 is portion is provided located a' transversely disposed groove '11' and a roughened surface 12 is located adjacent thel groove 11.'
At the inner edge of thei roughened surv face 12 is'located a recess 13 having at its "lower end a.' cutting edge 14; The grdoves and surfaces ofthe two` jaw `portions 3 mate with each other and when the said jaw portions'are closed together the said groove and Y 4surfaces register with each other. The jaw portions 3 are curved longitudinally out of alinement with the long ldimensions of the4 handle portions 4. Thus when the beveled portions 7 are brought together they may pass under the head of 'a tack and by swingingxthe handle portions 4 in a downward direction the tack mayl be lifted out .ofthe material in which it is located. Should the tackhave an unusuallylong shank the tack f m'ay be startedv as above indicated and then :the "shank of the tack can be received in the ".grooves-9 .and the tack lifted'out of the ma'- terial in whichlit is located. For removing nails' the grooves 11 are placed aboutthe opposite `sides of the same and the. surfaces lOvmay be used for holding flat objects.- The roughened surfaces 12 maybe used for twisting wire or like objects and thecntting edges 14 may be usedhfor cutting' w1re,"nai1s andv similar articles.' Therefore it will be seen `that a-combination tool of simple structure 'I is prbvided. i i
