To all wlwm it-may concern Be it known that I, CHARLES V. NELLANY, of New York city, in the county of New York and State of New York, have invented following to be a full, clear, and exact decertain new and useful Improvements in Tooth-Brushes; and I do hereby declare the scription of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which -1t appertains to make and use the same.
My invention contemplates a tooth brush provided with a casing or. compartment adapted to contain the brush proper or bristles when not in'use, of the brush as. an entirety.

the sleeve 9 having ears 10 to receive the extremity of the sleeve 7. I have alsolshown the ears 10 formed with lugs 12 adapted to be received by a pair of notches 13, when the article is full open, and a similarpair of notches 14, when the brush is closed. A
spring 15- is shown in Fig. 3 coiled around the p1n 8. This spring tends to hold the sides of the sleeve 7 pressed outward and in consequence tends to maintain the lugs 12 in the notches 13 .or 14.
