Be it known that I, Gnns'rnn' McNnrL, a citizen of the United States, residing at Ghicago, in the county of Cook, State of Illinois, have invented certainnew and useful Improvements in Presser-Feet or Sewing- Machines, of which the following is a description, reference being had tothe accompanying drawing and to the letters and figures of reference marked thereon.

, My invention relates to a presser foot for sewing machines, and particularly to a construction of presser foot which has been devised by me for use in making the imitation buttonhole set forth in my Patent No. 970,094, dated September 13th, 1910. Said imitation button hole is formed by means of a cord or gimp bent between its ends, so that the projecting ribs of the gimp are brought adjacent to each other, and the folded portions of the cord are laid in parallel lines, a sewing machine having two closely spaced needles with a cooperating under thread carrying looper being employed to pass lines of stitches through the projecting ribs, and through .the' fabric,

these stitches being secured by the cross threads of the .looper on the under side.

The object of the present invention, is toprovide a presser foot for use in connection with such a machine for guiding the gimp, and furthermore, it is desirable to provide for somelatitude in the sizeof the gimp used, and also to provide other features,
