*Myinvention'. consists offa new .and'inr for shipping oil' cans, gasolene cans, etc.
- Shipping jackets for cans of this kind the can in shipment. I have devised a means have to be strong and durable, and -the cover must be -fastenedson very securelfy as not'fto become loose or separated rom of securing the cover which makes it'impossible for removed when it is desired to pour from the can. My improved jacket is also so con-' struct'ed that the can cannot possibly slip out of the jacket when the can is tipped up to pour. I have alsoprovided new and improved devices for holding the can in the jacket.
In the accompanyingdrawings :-Figure.
I is a front elevation of the jacket showmg one part of the fastening device. Fig. 2 1s a sectional view' ofa jacket and can taken on the line 55 of Fi 1. Fig. 3 is a plan view of the jacket an can in. win- .verted position, partly broken awa to show,

v I The device consists of a cyhndricaljacket 1 ,a" made preferably of meta corrugations b. The topof the acket is '40 bent over so as to form a ridge ,or rcollar c (see Figs. 2 and 4) and there is preferably against the flange d of the can e (the can being insertedin the jacket from the bottom) rand-it also strengthens the body of the jacketabbw After the can eis placed in the jacket a it is securely held in position'bytwo straps f made preferably of stripsof resilient metal and so constructed as to ap over each other i and form a joint. If desired, the strip is may be secured on'the inside of the jacket and the'ridge or collar 0 formed ontthe outside on the bottom of the strip ls.
