MAX ROSENTHAL, OF NEW YORK, N. Y., ASSIGNOR- OF ONE-HALF T0 GEORGE SCHMIDT,
.13., or ELIZABETH, NEW JERSEY.
HOT-WATER BOTTLE.
Application filed November 15, 1912.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, MAX ROSENTHAL, a citizen of the United States of America, residing in New York, in the borough of Manhattan, county and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Hot-Water Bottles, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to an improved hotwater bottle which is made of metal and in such a shape that it can be used as a hot water bottle for the abdomen, limbs, feet and other parts of the body, and also as a water-bottle for vaginal syringes and other applications; and for this purpose the invention consists of a hot-water bottle made of oblong shape and provided with a concave front-wall, a straight rear-wall and straight end and side-walls, the bottle being provided with a suspension-device, a fillingopening and a screw-plug at one end, and a screw-socket and plugat the lower end for inserting a nipple when the bottle is to be used in connection with a syringe.
In the accompanying drawing, Figure 1 represents a front-elevation of my improved water-bottle, Fig. 2 is a vertical transverse section, showing the water-bottle in suspended position, Fig. 3 is a top view, and Fig. 4 is a vertical longitudinal section, showing the use of the water-bottle for heating the abdomen or feet.
Similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts throughout the difierent figures of the drawing.
Referring to the drawing, (1 represents the body of my improved water-bottle, which is preferably made of sheet-copper, aluminum or other suitable metal and plated with nickel or silver. The body a is made of oblong shape with straight side-top and bottom-walls, a concave front-wall which is rounded off toward the upper and lower ends, and a straight rear-wall as shown clearly in Fig. 2 of the drawing. To the upper end of the bottle is applied a suspen 1 sion-device b, so that'the water-bottle can be used at any desired elevation in connection with a vaginal syrings, in the same manner as the well-known rubber bags. The upper end of the top is also provided, at one corner, with an inlet-opening d for permitting the filling of the water-bottle with hot Specification of Letters Patent.

water, or with small pieces of chopped ice Patented Mar. 23, 1915.
The water-bottle can be used for different purposes and has the advantage of great durability; as it is made of metal, and therefore not liable to leak after a comparatively short use, so that it forms a permanent bottle for domestic and other uses. By the concave shape of the front-wall, and the straight shape of the rear-wall, the bottle can be applied to the abdomen or limbs, or to the feet or other parts of the body, so
that the higher cost of the bottle is compensated by its convenience in its different applications and the durability of its construction.
I claim:
In a water bottle, the combination of a rear wall having surface elements composed of straight lines, a straight line top wall at right angles to said rear wall provided with a filling opening in the top wall near a corner formed by the edge of saidtop wall and the top of said rear wall, a straight line bottom wall at right angles to said rear wall provided with an emptying opening adapted to receive a nipple approximately centrally thereof, a concave front wall joined at its ends to the top and bottom Walls by rounded surfaces, straight line sidewalls at r right angles to said rear wall, a fixed suspension handle projecting beyond said top wall and immovably connected with said rear wall, and means for closing and openf copies of this patent may be obtained for five cents each, by addressing the Commissioner of Patents,
