IMPROVEMENT IN ELECTROPLATING LETTERS AND NUMBERS ON METALLIC PLATES FOR SIGNS, 8w.
The Schedule referred to in these Letters Patent and making part of the same.
I, J OHN J. PRATT, of New York city, in the county.
, letters, &c., intact and not plated; then the signs, 860.,
are burnished, which removes the paint, leaving the letters, figures, &c.,de pressed below the plating. They can be painted to suit the taste, or, if upon brass or copper, left without coloring.
I claim as my invention- 1. The improved process for forming letters, figures,
and the like on metal plates herein shown and described. v
2. The new manufacture herein described, using metal-plates suitable for signs, door-plates, or labels, with letters or figures formed by electroplating, as
set forth. 7
