Be it known that I, PERCY H. D. WALKER, a citizen of the United States, residing at Meriden, county of New Haven, State of Connecticut, have invented an Improvement in Fixture-Locks, of which the following is a specification.

This invention has for its object to provide a simple and inexpensive lock for wall brackets and fixtures generally and especially adapted for lavatory fixtures, as towel, tumbler, soap and sponge holders, which will hold the fixtures rigidly and securely, may be easily attached, easily removed by authorized persons as for refinishing, and which will avoid the use of external screws and the consequent danger of marring the fixtures and will present a perfectly smooth and unbroken surface.

With these and other objects in view I have devised the novel fixture attaching means which I will now describe referring to the accompanying drawing forming a part of this specification and using reference characters to indicate the several parts:

The holding plate is attached to the wall in any suitable manner, as by ordinary wood or expansion screws indicated by 15, and is slightly undercut, as at 16. In one side of the plate is a curved recess 17 to partly receive the nonpivoted cam which is an eccentric and has a portion of its edge beveled, as at 18, and a recess 19 in its upper side to receive the operative portion of the key. The base plate of the fixture is provided in its underside with an undercut recess 20 corresponding in shape with the holding plate and with the portion of the cam not received by the holding plate and is also provided with a sector shaped recess 21 of less depth Specification of Letters Patent.

than recess 20 to permit the insertion of the key lnto the recess in the cam and the swinging of the key in opposite directions to oscillate the cam and look the fixture to the holding plate or to unlock it therefrom. It will be noted that the portion of recess 20, whlch receives the cam is undercut and that the corresponding portion of the cam is beveled, so that in the locking position, as 1n F lgs. 2 and 3, the base plate is rigidly locked both to the cam and to the holding plate and cannot be detached therefrom until the cam has been oscillated to the unlocking posltion.

The operation is as follows: The holding plate is first secured rigidly in place and need never be disturbed. The cam is laid 1n the recess in the base plate with the recess 19 in the cam in the position indicated by dotted lines in Fig. 3. The base plate with the cam in the recess therein is then placed over the holding plate, the key is passed through recess 17 in the base plate and inserted in the recess in the cam and the cam is turned toward the position shown in full lines in Fig. 3, the eifect of which is to force both the cam and the base plate into locking relation with the holding plate. In the case of hotel fixtures and wherever there is danger of unauthorized removal, keys are only allowed in the possession of those authorized to use them, as, should it be desirable to remove fixtures for refinishing. Under the ordinary conditions of use my novel lock will hold the fixtures rigidly in place and will prevent their removal except by a person having a key.

Having thus described my invention I claim 1. A fixture lock comprising a fixed holding plate having an undercut edge, a cam member engaging the opposite edge of said plate, a base platehaving a recess to receive said holding plate and cam member, said recess having one wall undercut to cooperate with the undercut edge of said holding plate and an opposite wall engaged by said cam member, and said base plate having also an opening permitting access to said cam member to operate the same.

A fixture lock comprising a fixed holding plate having an undercut edge, a cam member engaging the opposite edge of said plate, said opposite edge being recessed to receive said cam member, a base plate having a recess to receive said holding plate and cam member, said recess having one Wall undercut to cooperate with the undercut edge of said holding plate and an opp0-' site Wall engaged by said cam member, and said base plate having also an opening permittingl access to said cam member to 0perate t e same.
