This invention relates to .improvements in shooting apparatus and has particularl reference to 'apparatusfor use. in -shooting'- matches which strike upon any roughened galleries.
`The invention consists broadlyin-providing the nose ofthe bullet, slug or other projectile with an inflammable composition and providing a target with a surface which when the inammable nose of the bullet '1m-v pinges upon itoperates to-ignite the inflammable nose and thus provide certain means whereby thel position of the hit can be in'- stantly and accurately observed. The target may conveniently consist of' a ycinematograph screen in which case the objects to be l fired at would bethe images moving on the screen. The' target-may however take other forms solong as its surface or surfaces is or are so coated as to insure the ignitipn ofthe nose of the projectilewhen the latter impingesuponi.v j
