` eitkuown that 1.HIRAM JWATTLES, @femkford,-in fthe county of Winnebago and `State of Illirois, haveinvented a new and useful Improvement in Clothes-Pin; and I do hereby-declare that the following is a full land exact description of the same, ref'- erence being hadto` the ,accompanyingV drawing and to the letters of reference marked thereon.

IAfV desired, however, the pin may be used in the ordinary manner, as shown in tig. 3, but the method above alluded to is believed to be preferable.
By means of this specific construction the pin may be first attached to the clothes Vwhile they are in the basket and within convenient reach, and the pinAmay then be secured to the rope, while with the old pin it is necessary first to fix the clothing ou the line, and i then put on the pin.
