T0 aZZ whom it may concern I Be it known that I, GEORGE J. HANKINS,

a citizen of the United States, residing at this character which will be composed of the minimum number of parts and which will be of such construction that it may be secured in the floor of the fireplace to receive the ashes and conduct the same to receptacles positioned beneath said floor.

A further object is to provide a device of this character including means which may be operated from within the house to force the ashes from the ash box to the receptacles positioned therebeneath.

A further object is to generally improve and simplify the construction and operation of devices of this character and increase the efficiency of the same, without materially increasing the cost of manufacture thereof.

With the above and other objects in View, my invention consists in certain novel constructions, combinations, and arrangements. of parts to be hereinafter more fully de-' scribed,'cla1med, and illustrated 1n the ac-' companying drawings, in which,
