To all whom it may concern? Be it known that we, Leon Browmav citizen of the United States, residing at New York, in the'county of New York and State of New York, and Pn'rnn ARAsMUs, a citizenot the United States, residing at Paxton, in the county of Ford and State of Illinois,
have invented certain new and useful Im-fl provements in Turn-Tables; and we do dc clare the following-to be a fullg clear, and e ;actdescription of the invention, such asf will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertainsto make and use the. same.
This invention relates to new and useful improvements in turn tables for automobiles and more particularly to a ,device which will enable an automobile to be turnedin a limited space in a garage. A further object of the invention resides in providing a device which "derivesits power from' the wheels of an automobile. when the latter is properly positioned thereon. I

naeans for stopping the rotation of said table at predetermined points 1n the rotation thereof. To this end WE: provide a sleeve 22 on the outer shaft 14 opposite that having the Worm thereon. This sleeve has teeth or'tlie'like 24.- formed in the peripheral edges-thereof which are designed for engagement with pins or studs 25 provided on said shaft at oints beyond each end of said sleeve. This construction forms a clutch mechanism whereby when said sleeve is disposed in one direction the one end "thereof will engage the one pin 25 Whereas when said sleeve is c isposed in the opposite direction the other pin or stud 25 will be engagedby" the opposite end of said sleeve.

Mounted on the upper face of the table 6 at points diametrically opposed to one another are the guide tracks 31 whiclrenable an automobile to be properly guided on the device. lt will be understood that when an automobile is guided onto this table 0 be tween the track ways, each Wheel. of the machine will be received on a pair of friction rollers indicated in the drawing as so that when the wheels of the automobile are rotated the device will be set in motion. In operation assuming that a machine has been properly positioned on the turn table should it be desired to rotate said table so as to position said machine for exit from the garage and. assuming that the space in said garage is too small to enable said automobile to be turned as usual, it is only necessary to place the machine in gear so as to cause the wheels thereof to be rotated. Each wheel of the automobile, stated above, is received on. a pair of friction rollers 15 so that when said wheels are set in rotation, the rollers will be rotated on. the device and prevent the automobile from moving forwardly. 'l herotation of said rollers 15, however, will cause the shafts 1-1 to be rotated and the friction roller 12 engaging the track it will cause the complete'talole with the automobile thereon to be rotated. From the foregoing it will be seen that we have provided a simple, inexpensive and eflicientmeans for carrying "out the objects of the invention and while we have particularly described the elements best adapted to performthe functions set forth, it is obvious that various changes in form, proportion and in the minor details of construction may be resorted to, within the scope ofthe appended claims, without departing from the spirit or sacrificing any of the principles of the invention.
Having thus described our invention what we claim is:
1. The combination with a turn table; of means operative by the wheels of a motor driven vehicle to cause rotation of said turn table, a double acting locking clutch in connectiontherewith and means for disposing said clutch to its effective position at predetermined points in the rotation of said turn table.
The combination with a turn table, pairs of parallel shafts mounted for rotation thereon, rollers on said shafts adapted to be engaged and, rotated by the wheels of a motordrivcn vehicle on said turn table, and means in connection therewith to rotate said turn table upon the rotation of said shaft; of a double acting locking clutch on one of said shafts, an actuating lever for said clutch projecting beyond the 1 eripheral edge of said table, and means adapted for engagement with said lever at predetermined points in the rotation of said turn table to lock the latter against rotation.
The combination with a pit, a turn table operatively mounted therein, pairs of parallel shafts rotatably mounted on said turn table, rollers on said shafts adapted tobe engaged and rotated by the wheels of a motor driven vehicle on said turn table, means ln connection therewith to rotate said turn table upon the rotation of saidrollers and 'hafts, a double acting locking clutch on one of said table, and a pair of stops stationarily. mounted in the pit-at diametrically opposite points therein, said stops being adapted for engagement with said leverto locksaid turn table against rotation at predetermined points in said pit.

and means in connection therewith to rotate said turn table upon the rotationof said rollers and shafts, of a double acting locks ing clutch on one of said shafts, an angular lever fulcrumed intermediate of its ends on said turn table and having connection at one of its ends with said clutch member to actuate the latter, the opposite end of said lever projecting beyond theperipheral edge of said turn table, and a pair of stop mem bers stationarily mounted in said pit atdiametrically opposite points therein and arranged in the path ofsaid actuating lever.

wheels of a motor driven vehicle on said turn table, and means in connection therewith to rotate said turn table upon the rotation of said rollers and shafts; of a sleeve like looking member loosely mounted on one of said shafts and having teeth at the ends thereof, studs mounted on said last mentioned'shaft beyond the ends of said sleeves adapted for engagement with the teeth on the latter when said sleeve is slided on said shaft, an angular leverfulcrumed intermediate of its ends on said turn table and having its'inner end loosely engaged with said sleeve member to actuate the latter, the opposite end of said lever projecting beyond the peripheral edge of said turn table, and a" pair of stop, members rigidly mounted in said pit at diametrically opposite points therein adapted for engagement with the last ment'roned end of said lever to lock said turn table points.
6. In a turn table of the class described, a pit, a platform mounted for rotation therein, said platform being provided with pairs of openings, pairs of shafts rotatably' mounted on the underside of said platform, friction rollers carried on said shafts and-projecting partially through the aforesaidOpehings in said platform, sprockets mounted on said against rotation at predetermined shafts '-and-i-arranged in longitudinal aline ment ,thereor an endless engaged with said sprocket to rotate the same and the shafts in unison, means in connection with one of said shafts for rotating the turn table in the pit upon the rotation of said shaft,
and additional means in connection with another of said shafts for locking said turn table against rotation at predetermined points in the pit.
