Description

M. L. BROWN. EXTRACTOR FOR LAUNDRY PURPOSES.
APPLICATION FILED JAN- I9, 1916.
1 1 9?,6U, Patented Sept. 5, 1916.
MARK L. BROWN, 01 CORVALLIS, OREGON.
EXTRACTOR FOR LAUNDRY PURPOSES.
Application filed January 19, 1916.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, MARK L. BROWN, a citizen of the United States, residing at Corvallis, in the county of Benton and State of Oregon, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Extractors for Laundry Purposes; and I do here declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to the letters and figures of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this specification.
This invention relates to new and useful improvements in extractors for laundry purposes and consists in the provision of a simple and eflicient device of this nature having various details of construction, combinations and arrangements of parts which will be hereinafter fully described, shown in the accompanying drawings and then specifically defined in the appended claim.
My invention is illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which:
Figure 1 is a vertical sectional view. Fig. 2 is a view in a plane at right angles to Fig. 1.
Reference now being had to. the details of drawings by letter, A designates a truck mounted upon wheels B which are adapted to travel in the ways C, and said truck has a casing D. A rotatable spindle E is mounted in suitable bearings upon the truck and carries a receptacle F at its upper end, said spindle being adapted to be rotated by a motor or any other suitable mechanism. The upper portion of the extractor or re Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented Sept. 5, 1916.
Serial No. 72,982.
ceptacle has a laterally extending part H and is adapted to extend toward the washer and designed to guide the clothes as they are put into the extractor.
In order to hold the truck upon the track, laterally projecting angled members N, fastened to the legs, are adapted to engage un derneath a flange of the way and guide the extractor as it is moved back and forth.
By the provision of an extractor made in accordance with my invention, it will be noted that a simple and eiiicient means is afforded whereby the extractor may be moved along the sides of the washing machines to receive the clothes and move from place to place, being guided in the ways and by the projections upon the legs thereof, the receptacle containing the clothes to be acted upon being given a rotary movement by any suitable motor means, not shown, the water being driven off by centrifugal action.
WVhat I claim to be new is 2- In a device of the character described, a truck with depending legs, wheels carried by and outwardly offset from said legs to bring in a vertical plane outside said legs, angled members secured to the outer faces of said legs above the wheels and having their lateral members extended over said wheels, and flanged guideways for said wheels having inwardly extended portions disposed above said lateral members.
In testimony whereof I hereunto aifix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
MARK L. BROWN.
Witnesses ARTHUR CLARKE, CEDRIo CLARK.
