FILE FOR PAPERS AND DOCUMENTS.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented Sept. 29, 1914.
Application filed December 3, 1910. Serial No. 595,375.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, JOHN WALKER, J r., of Farringdon House, Warwick Lane, London, England, manufacturer, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in and Relating to Files for Papers and Documents, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to files for papers and documents and has for its object to provide a simple and efficient file.
A file made in accordance with this invention comprises a length of paper or other material folded lengthwise and then in zig zag fashion so as to provide pockets on one or both sides of the length of material.
In the drawings,-Figure 1 is a plan of the device when open; Fig. 2 is a cross section showing the longitudinal folds.
In Figs. 1 and 2 a designates a sheet of paper or other material having a folded portion 7). Another sheet j is folded at 7' forming a narrow tab y' along one edge. The sheet is of substantially the width of the folded portion 6 of sheet a. The two sheets are then folded in zigzag fashion transversely to the first folds at (Z d d 41 forming pockets 6 e e and 7c 70 7c. The sheets may be of any desired length so as to give a pocket for each letter of the otherwise.
g g are covers on which a strap h or band is provided.
What I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent is A file comprising a sheet of material folded longitudinally and having the material on each side of the fold of unequal width, and a sheet of material of substantially the width of the shorter folded part of said first sheet, said second sheet being folded longitudinally along one edge to form a narrow attaching tab, said fold in said second piece of material having the fold in said first piece fitting therein and being attached to said first piece by its attaching tab, said sheets of material being folded transversely, alternately in opposite directions, to form a plurality of pockets, said file being adapted to be spread and laid fiat upon a table.
In witness whereof, I have hereunto signed my name in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
JOHN WALKER, JUNR.
