Patented Sept. 29, 1914.
Application filed March'28, 1914. Serial No. 828,019:
'fo all whom it may concern.'
Be it known that I, CHARLES FRANKLIN WRIGHT, a citizen of the United States, residing atl Kennett, in thecounty of Dunklin and State of Missouri, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Breeders Appliances, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings.
This vinvention relates to new and useful improvements 'in breeders appliances and more particularly to a tail pad for application to the tail of the female animal and the main object of the invention is the provisionf 0f an appliance of this. character which is so arranged upon the animals tail aS to prevent a misplaced entry.
Another object ofthe present' invention is the provision of an appliance of the above character which will possess advantages in points of efficiency and durability, is inexpensive to manufacture and, at the same time is simple in construction and operation.
With the above and other objects in view, the invention consists in the novel features of construction and the combination and arrangement of parts as will be lhereinafter referred to and more particularly pointed out in the specification and claims.
In the accompanying drawing forming a part of this application, Figure 1 isa detail perspective view illustrating the application of my improved appliance; and Fig.' 2 is an enlarged detail perspective view illustrating thedevice as abouty to be applied.
In the construction of my im roved appliance, I form a removable ban age which is generall is prefera ly constructed fof a single iece of. double thick material having a poc et 2 formed at one end. The' longitudinal edges of the bandage are provided with the spaced f openings 3, kwhich are adapted for the recep'- tion of the lacing string 4, whereby the bandage can be tightly laced upon the tail ofthe animal as shown in Fi 1. The inner end of the bandage is provicd with an enlarged circular portion 5 which is adapted to be arranged around the inner enlarged end' of the` animals tailand is held securely indicated bythe numeral 1 andl in position by means of the strap 6 and the buckle 7 which are secured to opposite sides of the bandage 1. 1
Arranged within the'pocket 2, is a ball of soft material which entirely fills the pocket. The pocket after being filled with the material forms a spherical projection which, when the bandage is placed in position, is adapted to be arranged tight up against the animals rectum and entirelyv close the same, thus entirely preventing a misplaced entry.
From the -above description` taken in connection with the accompanying drawing, it will be readily apparent thatI vided a simple and durable appliance of the above character which can be quickly and readily applied to the tail of the animal. By the use of the stra 6 and the buckle '7 and the lace 4,' it will be apparent that the `bandage can be readily applied to the animals tail and prevent the interference of the hair or articles which might be .clinging to the animals tail. It will also be apparent that I have rovided a simple and durable device which) can be manufactured and placed upon the market at a comparatively low cost. L
While I have shown and described the preferred form'of my invention, it will be apparent that various changes in the details of construction and in the proportions may be resorted to for successfully carryl my invention into practice, withoutsacri cing any of the novel features of construction or departing from the scope of the appended claims. l
. Having thus described this invention, what I claim is .-gf 1. A device of the class described including a bandage, means for detachably con- "ilecting the longitudinal edges thereof, said Ybandage having a pocket at one end thereof,
and means larranged within said pocket forming aspherical projection as and for `the purpose set forth. 2. VA device of the class described including a bandage formed of double thick material having a ocket formed in one end thereof, means` etachably connecting the means arranged Within said pocket omnoilngI a spherical projection, as and for the purpose set forth.
ln testimony whereof l hereunto aix my signature in the presence of two Witnesses.
