Preferably formed integral with the shank portion 14 of the hemmer is a fixed scroll part 22 which cooperates with an adjustable v scroll part 23 carried by a looped member 24 the-upper limb of which is provided'with a Y shank portionof the hemmer, so thatthe said looped member 24 will be guided by the said rib when adjusted laterally and-will be steadied thereby when secured in. any desired position of adjustment by means of the setscrew 27 tapped in said rib.
