To all whom it may concern Be it known that I,'IsAAo Donors, of Boouesborough, in the county ot' Boone and State of Iowa, have invented a new and improved Bolt- Outtcr and Shears and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof; which will enablc others skilled 'in the art to make and use the same, reference beinghad to the accompanying drawing forming part of this specification- My invention relates to and consists in an improved compound cutting andshearing tool, for blacksmiths. use. A and A are two handles or levers pivoted together at B, in the ordinary manner of shear-cutting tools.

They carry a pair of bolt-cutting bits or knives, O, at the outer ends, and behind the pivot B another pair of long shearing-cutters or'platcs, E E, which are designed to be used either for cutting bolts or shearing oil strips of metal.

Toadu-pt them for the reception of the bolts as near the pivotjoint as possible, and also to make room for the nut and admit the cutting-blade F to fit down snugly on the top of the not, a notch, H, is made in the plate or knife E, against the bottom. of which the side of the nut rests, while the edge of the other outter, F, is acting against the bolt.

I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent- 7 The compound tool, above described, consisting of. handles'A A pivoted at B, bolt-cutters O" O shearing-plates E F, of which the lower is notched at H, cam-lever I, stud K, and yoke M, all constructed and fitted together, as set forth, to form an improved article of manufltcture;
