IMPROVEMENT IN MOP AND SCRUBBER-HEADS'.

The Schedule referred to in these Letters Patent and making part of the same To all whom fitmay concernZ Be it known that I, WILLIAM H. KLINE, of Jersey Shore, in the county of Lycoming and State of Pennsylvania, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Combined Mop and scrubber-Head;

and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, which will enable others skilled i-n the art to make and use the saine, reference being' had to the accompanying drawing forming part 0f this specification.

This invention-relates to a new and useful improve` ment in a head for holding a nlop and scrnbbing-brush, by means of which the laborious operation of' mopping and scrubbing is greatly facilitated; and

The invention consists in the niode of constructing, arranging, and combining the different parts, so that either a mop or a brush, or both at the saine time, may be securely held and used, as will be hereinafter more fully described.

In the accompanying drawing- Figure l represents a perspective view of the article.

This apparatus consists in a stationary jaw, A, and shank B, to which the handle is attached, and a spring jaw, O, which ,closes onto the jaw A l'or holding the mop D, as seen in lig. 2. v

E is a spring, by means of which the two jaws are united, and by the tenen ot' which the mop D is he'ld.

F is a cam-lever, by means of which the jaw C is raisedfroln A, for inserting or removing the mop. This cam is pivoted to the jaw C, and acts or bears on A, as seen.

The jaw C is niade to fasten a scrubbing-brush', C', by means of a dovetailed groove andthe cam G. This cam may act as a button to fasten the brush, as seen in iig. 2, o'r its edge may be made t-o bear against the.-

end of' the brush for that purpose.

The jaw C is of peculiarshape, being somewhat triangular in form, so that the brushwiil rest level'. on the floor while the handle stands at an angle therewith. This arrangement obviates the necessity of getting down on the iioor to scrub, as the operator may stand nearly erect, and use the brush to the best advantage. Y

For using the' inop D, the headrhas only to be turned over; but the brnsh can be removed, if desired.

Having thus described my invention,

I claim as new anddesire t0 secure by Letters Patent.- y n A mop and scrubbing-head combined, formed of the jaws A and C, and provided with cams or fastening devices F and- G,constructed, arranged, and operating substantiallyas herein'shown and described.
