- Specification of Letters Patent;

Toall whom it may-concern. v
Be it knoWn that I, LEO GnsoH'IoK'mR, a subject of the Czar of-Russia" resrdingat Washington, District ofColumbia, have In, vented certain new and useful Improvements in Garment-Hangers for Mothproof Bags,
&c.; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which itappertains to ma ke and v I use the same, referencebeing had to'the accompanying drawings, and to [the lettersand figures of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this specification.
Thisinventionrelates to new and useful improvements in means for supporting garments in moth-proof-bags and comprises a simple and eflicient, device of this nature which will be hereinafter'fully described, shown in the aceom any-ing drawings and the then specifically de ed 'in the appended claims.
My invention is, illustrated in the aecom-- panying drawings, infwhichs- Figure 1 is a sectionaljview through a bag showing-in elevation the. manner of attaching the hanging device, and Fig. 2 isa cross sectional View online 22 of Fig. 1.
Reference now being-had. to the details of drawings by letter, A' designates abag 7 made of any material, which may be best adapted for the purpose "for which-the device is intended. and has its upper and openwith a ,reinforcing stripB aboutthe'same.
' Strips C and D arefastenedto the opposite i edges of the openingfandfsaidreinforcing strip and are adapted be heldinjclamping "40 relation therewith through the medium of screws. which .jpassythrough oneof the strips G and their other ends: engage .coun:
tersunken socket members F fastened, to'the,
strip D; VA suitablesupportinghook H is fastened to one of the screwsfand has an I angled shank portion'in-jorder'to bring the free end of the hook directly over the meet: ing edges of the strips-O] ndi D in order 1 the bag may be heldplumb.
tened in countersunken portions of the stri. C, as shown in Fig. 2 of the drawings, and designates a looped rod, the angled ends '0 v v i. of which engage the straps N in the manner 7 shown in Fig. 1' of the drawings and the may be held one above the other and the hangerssupported side by side at the same heights, which is made possible by the varyinglengths of the straps.
While I have 'shown but two hangers in Fig. 2 of the drawings, it will be understood that other hangers may be similarly'mounted, the uppermost of which will have the longest strap in order to bring the hangers with their upper edges in alinement with one another.
In adjusting the hangers, the rounds or cross-pieces to which the straps are fastened are placed over the upper ends of the upwardly curved loops 0 of the rod 0 and caused to engage the rear edges of the central loop O ,the sides of which serve to hold the same in the manner clearly shown in the drawings.
By the provision of a bag embodying the improvements shown and described, it will be noted that a simple and efiicient means is afforded whereby the weight ofthe garments is supported entirely by the strips at the upper open end of the bag, the latter being entirely free from the strain incident to hanging the garments upon the bag itself, and a convenient means is afiorded'for holding plurality of hangers with their upper edges along the same horizontal plane.
What I claim to be new i s.:.
1; In combination with a moth-proof bag,
strips fastened to the opposite edges of the end opening therein, one of said strips having offsetsup'on its inner face, straps fastened in said offsets, means for engaging said strips to hold-theioppositefaces of the bag intermediate the strips in contact with each other, a looped rod having angled ends engaging said straps, a cross-piece and a 'hanger,a strip connecting said hanger and cross-piece, the latter being held against the edges of'a loop in said. rodby said strip, as set forth.
2.111 combination with a moth-proof bag, strips fastened to the opposite edges of the and opening therein, one of said strips having oiisets upon its inner face, straps fasing said hanger and cross-piece, the latter tened in said ofisets, a screw passing through bein held against the ed es ofa loop in said registering apertures in .said strips, a counrod y said strip, as set orth. tersunken nut mounted in one of the strips, In testimony'whereof I hereunto aflixlmy 5 a bolt passing through one of the strips and signature in the presence of two witnesses. 15
engaging said nut and adapted to cooperate therewith to hold portions of the bag inter- LEO GESCHICKTER' mediate said strips in contact with each Witnesses:
other, a looped rod supported by said straps, A. L. HoUoH,
10 a cross piece and a hanger, a strip connect- FRANKLIN H. .HOUGH.
