citizen' of the United States, residing at- Baltimore, in the State of Maryland, have invented a new and useful Collar Attachment; and I do hereby declare the following tp be a full, clear, vand exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains tol make and use the same.

One of the features of the invention is the production of means to prevent the attach- The invention comprises further features and combination of parts, as hereinafter set forth, shown in the drawings and claimed.

Referring to the drawings 1 designates the collar, which is of the usual construction, while 2 denotes the attachment, which may be made of sheet steel or aluminum or any other suitable material. v

. The attachment comprises an elongated sheet metal material bent longitudinally upon itself as at 2a, forming the two sides 3 and 4, and then again as at 5 to form the elongated flange 6, which is disposed between the two sides 3 and 4. The bend 5 is more in the form of a curve, asshown, so as to hold the sides 3 and 4 considerably spaced apart, in order that the neck-tie may easily slide between the two sides 3 and4 of the attachment.

' The outer faces of the sides 3 and 4 are provided with pointed lugs 7, adapted to slightly pi'ercel the collar, In order to prevent the attachment from slipping downwhen the two portions 8 and 9 ofthe collar` do not come together sufficiently to permit the lugsy to pierce them, the attachment is provided with an extension plate l0 having a recess l1, in which the collar button 12 engages, thereby properly supporting the attachment.

In applying the attachment, the two sides 3 and 4 thereof are partly spread apart, in order to permit the insertionof the neckltie. The neck-tie is arranged between the liange 6 and the side 4. and being that the bend isin the form of a curve or roll, the' neck-tie will easily slip, in order that the same may be properly adjusted.

In manufacturing this collar attachment, some may V-be made with the extension 10, and others without the extension.

The invention having beenset forth, what is claimed as new and useful is t 1. An improved scarf-holding and spacing device for collars comprising an elongated plate bent longitudinally upon itself to form two sides, one of which is curved longitudinally upon itself and terminating in an elongated flange disposed between the two 'sides'` the flange constituting means adapted for supporting a` necktie between it and one of the sides, and also for holding the sides of the device separated, the outer faces of the sides having point-edlugs adapted to engage the collar-to support t-he spacing device.

2. An improved scarf-holding and spacing device for collars comprising an elongated plate bent longitudinally upon itself to form two sides, one of which is curved longitudinally upon itself and terminating in an elongated flange dispo-sed between the two sides, the ange constituting means adapted for supporting a necktie between it and one of the sides and also for holding the sides of the device separated, the outer faces of the sides having pointed lugs adapted to engage the collar to support the spacing device, the side having the flange being provided with a substantially centrally located extension having a recess adapted to engage the collar-button.

An improved scarf-holding and spacing device for-collars comprising an elongated plate bent longitudinally upon itself to form vtwo sides, one of which is curved longitudinally .upon itself and terminating in an elongated lia-nge disposed between the -vand one of the sides ltwo sides, the flange constituting means the sides of the device separated, the side .having the flange being provided with a substantially` centrallylocated extension having a recess adapted to yengage the collar-button. s
