Letters Patent No. 108,167, dated ottber 11, 1870.
The Schedule referred to in these Letters Patent and making part of the same I, PETER MUNZINGER, ot' the city and county. of Philadelphia and State of Pennsylvania, have invented an Improvement in Gas-Trays for Purifiers, ot' which the following is a specification.
Nature and Objectl of the Invention..
My invention consists in the use and application of binding-rods in combination with slats or strips and separatingdrlocks for tra-ys for gas-purifiers, where. by the dampness ot' the purifier, which has heretofore been so destructive to trays or seives, is used to preserve and strengthen the same,by swelling the wood and binding the whole together, and thereby preventing the gas from coming in contact with and destroying the rods.

I am aware that strips having wedge-shaped transverse sections have been used in the manufacture of gas-trays or sieves for purifiers for a number of years. I therefore wish it distinct-ly understood that I do not confine myself to strips and wedges of a. given transverse section, but will use either square, round, or any other suitable form.
I claim as my'invention-- The strips A and blocks B, ot' any Vtransverse section, in combination with the riveted binding-rods C and the-washer D, substantially as and for the purpose shown and described.
