Description

M. POLLOOK. CAPSULE FOB, MEDICINE. APPLICATION FILED JUNE 10, 1913.

MONTAGUE roLLocK, on NEW YORK, IN. Y.
CAPSULE FOR MEDICINE.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Application filed June 10, 1913. Serial No. 772,767.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, MONTAGUE PoLLooK, a subject of the King of Great Britain, and a resident of the city, county, and State of New York, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Capsules for Medicine, of which the following is a specification.
The object of my invention is toprovide a soluble capsule of the usual form except that the two parts are positively locked together after the same has been loaded with the proper medicine, so that when the same is in use, under no circumstances can the parts become separated, and so cause a loss of the contents and the capsule is kept intact with its contents until the capsule is dissolved in the stomach of the consumer.
For a more particular description of my invention, reference is to be had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part hereof, in which,
Figure 1 is a plan view of two parts of a capsule with my improvement. Fig. 2 is a section on lines 2-2 of Fig. 1, parts in place. Fig. 3, modified form. Fig. 4, section on lines 44 of Fig. 3. Fig. 5, section on lines 5-5 of Fig. 4.
Throughout the various views of the drawings, similar reference characters designate similar parts.
My improved capsule 1 is composed of the smaller part 2 and the larger 3 which parts are adapted to telescope at their open ends so that the part 2 is inside the part 3. The part 2 is provided with a suitable notch 4 and the part 3 with a corresponding notch 5 so that when these two parts are assembled together, as shown in Figs. 1 and 2, the
notches will interlock and so prevent a sepa tient in the usual manner.
Patented Nov. 25, 1913.
While I have shown and described one embodiment of my'invention, it is obvious that it is not restricted thereto, but isbroad enough to cover all structures that come, within the scope of the annexedclaim.
What I claim is:
A soluble capsule having two parts, one part telescoping over a portion of the other, and interengaging notches in said parts whereby the parts of said capsule are not permitted to separate when once the capsule has been assembled.
In witness whereof, I have signed my name to this specification in the presence of two witnesses. V
BENEDICT S. Wise, JAooB LASKER.
