To all whom it may`v concern.: i Be it known that ll, LUKE Toznn, a citi-v zen of the United States, residing at lola, in the county of Allen and State of Kansas, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Oil-Burners; and l do declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the inventiomsuch as will enable others skilled in the art tojvhic'h it appertains to make and use the same, reference being had' to the accompanying drawings, and tothe letters and igures of reference marked thereon, which form a .part .of this specifi-cation.
My invention relates lto oil burners, and
more particularly to a device of that class adapted for 4usein stoves or furnaces and i Awherein fuel*'oil is converted into gas and mixed with 'lair to provide .a combustible fuel, the principal object of the invention being to provide a structure for converting the'liquid into gas and securing a proper mixture with the oxygen in the air admitted to the burner to provide the desired fuel gas.

In using the burner, presuming to be constructed and assembled as' .de-g scribed, oil is admitted through the supply pipe to thejgenerating chamber 4and overflows said chamber into the bowl at thebot-l tom of the barrel. This oil is then ignited and' burns to heat the generator parts i'n order to secure an initial flow of gas, the` supply being cut ofi' as soon as :sufficient vquantity has beenf delivered into the bowl. An oil burner comprising a borrel having ports in its upper portion, -a oep seated on said barrel 'and having a generating chamber in its upper faee and a bore opening into said chamber, said cap being also' provided with bosses on its upper edge and with ribs on its outer fece, e hood seated on said bossesI and spaced by said ribs, and a supply pipe fixed-in .the cap bore and eX- tended through said barrel.
