1 cles and has articular reference to bottles or the like which are adapted to be carried in ones pocket or suitcase, although I would have itunderstood that the purpose of the bottle is not to be limited in any way and also it should be understood that the size and relative proportions of the parts may be varied. to a large extent without departing from the spirit of the invention.
Among the particular objects of this invcntion to provide a liquid containing bcttie with a reinforcing casing, whereby the bottle proper is better protected not only from light but from blows or pressure which would tend to crush or otherwise damage the bottle.
The foregoing and other objects of this invention will hereinafter bemore fully described and claimed and illustrated in the drawings forming a part of this specification in which like characters of reference indicate corresponding parts in all the views,
and in which- Figure l is a vertical section of one form of a device made in accordance with this invention; Fig. 2 is a side elevation of the same complete but on a smaller scale; and

Referring especially to Fig. 1, I provide a ilk-bottle 10 of any suitable size or form and also of any suitable material, preferably glass. As herein shown, this bottle is of tubular form and having a closed bottom 11. The upper end or mouth oi the bottle is normally open, but adapted to be closed by the peculiar form of closure 12. The closure comprises a stopper 13 of cork or the like and adapted to fit into the aforesaid mouth. A tube 14 passed through said stopper 13 and is preferably permanently connected therewith by virtue of an outwardl turned mange it at its umor end and a ange ic sulmtantuilly in the form of a disk embracing all of the outer and of said stopper. The .65 periphery 1,5 of said upper flange is ada ted to engage directly upon the upper e go 10 of the bottle 10, whereby the inward movement of the closure is limited. The connection between the inner sun of the lube l4 and the stopper 13 provide a means whereby force may be applied to the outer flange 15 on the outer end ol the tube to withdraw the stopper from the bottle.
At 16 l. show a casing preferably of metal or some other strong rigid material which completely incloses the bottle 10 and extends preferably slightly beyond the same adjacent the flange 15 of the closure. The casing 16 is preferably so constructed as to substantially fit the entire exterior of the bottle 10. At the upper end 16, the casing is fitted with a detachable cap 17 which may be threaded to thecasing or connected thereto in any other suitable manner. The middle portion of the cap is so arranged as to bear upon the aforesaid flange 15, and when screwed in place upon the casing, as illustrated, it will ;operate through-the flange 15 to secure the stopper in placein the bottle and by reason of the frictional contact betwcenthe periphery 15 of the flange and the edge 10 of the Qhottlc the bottle will be substantially locked from rotation Within the casing.
To the outer end i l of thetube 1e, which projects through a. central hole 17 of the cap.,.is connected preferably by screw threads a cap 18 which through a layer of cork 19 or the like serves to seal said tube.
A bottle made in accordance with this invention is adapted to be filled or supplied with medicine or any other commodity. In order to fill the bottle ordinarily, the caps 18 and 1'7 are removed, and the closure withdrawn from the bottle. After filling, these parts will he replaced in proper order with the results already indicated. In order to use from the bottle any of its contents, it is but necessary to remove the cap 18, the other parts not being disturbed. s
'In "the fo'rHFo-- the invention shown in Fig. 3, the bottle 20 is provided with a neck 21 which projects outward through the hole 17 of the cap 17. The cap 18 cooperates withsaid neck 21 in a manner corresponding to the similar part in the other form of the invention. The casing 16 and its cap 17- are or may be precisely like those previously described. In this form of the invention, the
cap 17 prevents movement of the bottle 20 within the casing, as in the other form, and the cap 18, in addition to sealing the neck of the botti, a ssists in holding the cap 17 in place. As indicated, the bottle 20 at its upper end extends above the upper end of the casing whereby pressure applied to the bottle through the threaded connection hetween. the cup 17 and the casing Wili insure proper holding of the bottle in place in the casing. Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters 1utent:
1. in a device of the character set fortlu the combination of a casing, a bottle Within the casing, said bottle and casing being of unequal lengths, a, tubular outlet for the bottle, a cap secured upon the casing and serving to maintain the bottle in proper position therein, and a. cup fitted to the outer end of the tubular outlet and cooperating with the outer face of casing cup, substantially as set forth.
